And no, not just a lyric from a 'The Rasmus' song...

As far as I remember, I've died twice in my dreams. Not very recently, but within the last six months. I can still remember them pretty well though:

The first time:

[/i]I was on my way back from work going down the dirt track, with some other guys, in a golf cart. Just standing in the road there was this guy. The golf cart swerved and we rolled it and ran him over. Oops... So, we're back at the top of the hill going down again and the guy's in the road again. I knew he'd be there but we still hit him. I think it was the third time going down the hill that I managed to stop the golf cart and we didn't hit him. I was sure that'd make things right, but it didn't. The guy said he was going to have to kill me for running him down, so I turned to run. A little girl appeared (who looked like somebody I know) and the man was throwing knives at me as I ran away (the usual slow-motion running). At the foot of the hill the man asked the girl how she wanted me to die. She replied, and then they started throwing shovels at me instead. I made it to the top of the hill and got inside. I tried to reason with the girl (the guy disappeared) and I offered her all of the money in my wallet (I think it matched what I really had). She said she'd take it in exchange for not killing me, but I knew she was lying. As walked away and I turned my back, I ducked. A shovel went flying over my head. At this point I kind of broke down (the emotions were really quite strong) and I just stayed still as she chopped my head off with a shovel. That was the end of me...

After that it went a bit strange and I turned into a ghost, meeting up with some relatives / old friends, some of whom are dead some of whom aren't, based in the office of a family friend who did actually die.[/i]

It's a pretty long post already so I won't outline the second one...

But I have a couple of questions:

What is this rewind --> rectify thing about? I've had it loads of times where something in a dream's happenned and things have gone wrong so I've gone back, but totally known about it and have tried to avoid the situation. Is it an example of lucid dreaming (being aware of the dream and choosing actions to avoid the scenarios)?

What does death in this context usually mean?

Cheers,

Tom
