      "Last i heard, 1 guy claimed he was LD'ing for 100 years!"

      I think that should be "claimed that he FELT like he was LD'ing for 100 years"

      You can't really sleep for 100 years in one night, obviously.

      My longest dream seemed like it lasted two or three hours. But in reality it was maybe 40-50 minutes of sleep time, with a lot of different scenes.

      This is what we call time incubation in that your dream seems to last for a very long time hours, days, weeks, years, lifetimes, etc.

      It is very possible to do and so it is possible to have a dream that seems to last for 100 years in a normal REM period.

      The longest dream I have managed to achieve was yesterday that lasted about the course of a day.

      It's that whole trick of making it seem like it was 100 years. Say in a lucid dream, you make the sun go up and then down and up and down. Do this 100 times and you'll have been in the dream for 100 days. Same applies for years.

      I think it can leave the impression that you were in it for far longer than you think. I've had LDs that seemed to lasted 30 - 45 minutes, but then I realize it was probably 10 minutes at the most, just all the things I did made it seem longer.
      WBTBs = 5
      DILDs = 17
      WILDs = 2
      DEILDs = 3
      MILDs = 12

      Total Lucid Dreams = 38
      Last LD = 02/21/08

      You are somewhat right, although making the sun rise and set is not a very good example as it could take seconds to make the sun do this and is not the same.

      It is all about belief and somewhat causing your memory of the dream to be extended by doing certain things.

      Does this mean that when you wake up, you can say what you've been doing for the last 100 years? Or is it more like you get the sensation that you've been time traveling?

      How great would it be to wake up after an 100 year LD, not be able to find a pen and paper, and forget it all within a minute? Pretty awesome.

      Never mind, looks like a more on-topic discussion is beginning here:

      Untrue, my friend Kyle slipped into a coma, and the REM cycles got longer and longer until he had a year long lucid dream.

      What you have to realize is that Reality Time and Dream Time are greatly different once you get this fact straight things start to make more sense.
