      Loss of Motivation

When I first heard about lucid dreaming I was so excited to try it myself. I successfully had about 10 lucids overall now that have been fun but I have lost my motivation to go through the effort for more.

I stopped writing in my dream journal and I stopped doing RC's (for the most part). I don't really know why but I just don't feel like trying to have lucids, even though I want more.

Please help me get re-motivated to try and have lucids. I want to have more and I want to be excited about lucid dreaming again. If you could tell me about your favorite lucid experience or something like that so I will have something to be excited about trying to do.

      Thanks for your help.

I've had a recent increase in lucids, so I am psyched now. Surely you haven't accomplished everything that you thought of doing when you first learned about lucd dreaming? There must be some things left for you to try to do. I've got some things I want to accomplish, and having those goals keeps me motivated; maybe you could think of a couple things that you could look forward to accomplishing. (If the Lucid Task of the Month isn't inspiring you right now...)

On the other hand, it's OK to take a break; maybe come back with more enthusiasm and therefore increased chance of having some good dreams. Even if you put it aside for a while, you'll get back to it eventually. You made a lot of progress in a short time; you won't lose that knowledge and you can pick up where you left off when the mood hits you again.

Maybe you could try a new technique--you've had success with WILD; that could be something you could try to perfect so you don't have to spend so much time doing RC's and stuff during the day.

I know what you mean buddy. I really would like to get back into lucid dreaming but my problem is school! It is very hard for me to keep a healthy sleeping schedule while in school. I believe the biggest motivation is another lucid dream. After you wake up you are so into the idea of doing it every night. So I would really really push for that one lucid dream to encourage you to do another! This is easy to say but hard to do! Argh.Maybe going back and reading your journal will create some enthusiasm, I know that helped me plenty of times.
