Testing how believable lucid dreaming is.

I decided it might be nice to have a test to see how many people actually WILL NOT BELIEVE lucid dreaming exists. Now of course people on his forum will just not work in this reguard so, I am going to make two posts, one on
      www.gaiaonline.com
      and one on
      www.myspace.com

to see how many people just WILL NOT BELIEVE in lucid dreaming =)
If it is hillarious enough to report about I will send you a link back to it. Now the real kicker is i'm going to try to give the mountains and mountains of evidence that have been provided for the existence of these things whenever the first person says he believes it is not possible

I want to see if people truly have a stigma towards the believability of lucid dreaming, as I see many people on this forum saying that alot of people don't believe in lucid dreaming. Of course aside from this forum, when I make posts no one takes interest so it may be some time before I get this done...

Nice. I'll be waiting for your results. Good luck convincing them. If you ask me, I think that many will believe you, since I haven't seen many skeptics on the internets.

I agree, but i've been told many times that there are alot of them...

The purpose of this experiment is one, for fun, but most importantly to see if the fact that the "many people don't believe in lucid dreaming" statement made by many on this forums specifically is based on actual information, or just that they have heard this statement so many times, without any proof, that they accept it as fact.

I expect Myspace to have WAY more people saying no than Gaia though... I wonder what would happen if I posted it on a scientific forum, anyone who is a member of the scientific forums communities (wherever they are hidden on the internet) wanna fill in this part of the experiment for me?

If your test turns out like you say, you can test our disbelief of their disbelief of LDs.

I mean how could people not believe in LD? That is preposterous.

Nice. I don't think you'd even have to provide evidence. A poll like what you're doing isn't trying to win people over, it's aiming to find out how many people think it's a possibility and how many think it's not possible. At least that's my interpretation of what you said.

I'd just ask: "Do you believe lucid dreaming is real? That is, do you think it's really possible to be aware that you are dreaming while you are dreaming?"

Well I had to create them first (I made this post first before them).

Ok bare in mind, I kindof cheated, I took to heart the fact that people always want to disagree with you, so in my posting I tried to steer people into saying its real...I dunno if thats sick of me or not but meh, oh well. What is ED?

Its interesting, so far i've only gotten yes it is true responses...or in the event they didn't respond but took the poll option, they said "I need more information."

Yeah, I dropped the bomb on the threads now, since if they don't get enough attention on sites like those they tend to die out never to be looked at again.

If you need some evidence, webmd has an article about it
      http://www.webmd.com/balance/feature...ealth-dream-on
It also says in the article that in Tibet it is calld "Dream Yoga". I really like that term, not sure why.

Cool, but no one has said they don't believe it...So I guess I don't need evidence. However now if people say that "some people don't believe it" I'll just direct them to this thread lol.

As I said before. The internets might not be the same as the RL.

When you mention just the basic concept of lucid dreaming people tend to imagine it's like some crappy dream or day dreaming. I'm betting there would be more negative answers if you had placed emphasis on how lucid dreams can be as real and vivid as waking life.
