      Waking on command(need help)

      anyone else sometimes have trouble waking from dreams?

      let me relate...

      About three months ago I had an LD that seemed to go on for a long time. Sick of the dreamworld(for the time being) I attempt to wake up.
      No problem, I get up out of bed and do my morning routine. However, during the shower I noticed the print on my shampoo bottle was all screwed up.
      Then I go into another false awaking an begin to panic, followed by many false awakenings. This was a very frightening experience that I would rather not have ever again. It reminded me of Waking Life and I began to question whether I was alive or not(I had watched that movie only a couple of days before this dream). Scary stuff. I did eventually wake up...in a cold sweat.

      Anybody else had similar experiences or have advice for waking on command?

      Since then I have been afraid to even attempt lucid dreaming, but recently I've been feeling ambitious(but unsuccessful).

      I have had trouble waking from an ld but never had succession of fa's while trying to wake up. That sounds like a very scary experience and i know what u mean after a while u start to question if u are alive or not, i bet u were glad to finally wake up.

      It's never happened to me before, but I've always wondered if it could happen. I always figured I'd just go on with the LD for as long as I could. My problem with LD's is usually that they are too short, not the other way around. I've read in Stephen LaBerge's book that the best way to wake up from an LD is to go to sleep in it, or just close your eyes for as long as it takes.

      LD Tasks:
      -> Have MILDs at will
      -> Ask my subconcsious mind something deep (i.e. the meaning of life)
      -> Have a fight controlling bullet-time
      -> Call my cell phone and ask the DC who he is

      Fastest way for me to wake up is to close my eyes and tilt my head to the side. If only close my eyes, I might wake up in a FA, but if I tilt my head to the side for some reason it always happens in real life.

      I used to find falling off something high worked or running at something hard like a wall really fast. Alternatively just trying to move muscles, I can see how this may cause a false awakening but for me it just results in my wiggling in the bed walking me up. Read how to stay in the dream and do the opposite, like looking straight up at the blue sky so you loose your points of focus.

      A great way to wake up from a lucid dream is to try and overly increase the realism of the dream, try getting really excited also about things, be active and try and wake your body up, it will work eventually if you keep at it

      Hmmm..I don't have many FAs, but I wake myself up by concentrating until I can kind of "feel" like im in my body, and open my eyes really fast. That proably didn't make sense, but thats how I do it...Or if I jump off a really high building and let mself hit the ground it usually wakes me up.
      All the times when no one ever came to get me
      All the nights when i was scared
      And when it got to weird
      It was the song that saved me

      Interesting, I have been using this method to escape nightmares since I was 5 years old, I didn't know anyone else did this, cool.

      (Of course it's useless for me now because my nightmares are 3 seconds long!)
