I became lucid, but had a hard time moving

I dreamt someone told me I was dreaming, and I pinched myself. There was no pain, and I became lucid. However, I was in my own bed when I became lucid, and it was hard getting up from it. It was like this force was keeping my back in bed, like I was a magnet drawn to this magnetic field.

      What was that about?

It can happen sometimes. It's just a dream with poor control. Don't worry, most likely your next lucid dream will be much better.

Yeah sounds to me like you didnt have full control over the dream... Although saying that, sometimes when I dream I am very light, like when I fly I imagine myself to be really light to take off as it were, so maybe for some reason your mind had set on you being really heavy?

Next time try rolling out of bed and floating, that would be cool

I could be wrong about this but sometimes when you become lucid in dreams you will find that your mind tried to drag you back into the dream, but like dodobird said, if you have better control and focus in your lucid dreams you will be able to take charge and tell your mind who's boss. I hope you do much better in your next lucid

      Hey there,

I think the reason this happens is that you are very close to awakening, just on the border zone of sleep. Because our mind constantly gets impulses from our body (especially sound and feeling), the feeling of your body being sleep-paralysed is imposing itself on your dream (just like if your alarm clock was playing and there'd be a loud music in your dream).

I call this state dreamparalysis, and it happens fairly frequently to me. My advice is to use the same techniques that you would for prolonging dreams, ie focussing on the dreamsensations around you, and not on your body. This should allow your body to fall into a deeper rest again, and bring you out of this state.

      Hope that helps!

I've had a similar problem in non-lucids where I keep falling down and I can't stand for more than a second, but it never happens for me in lucids.
