Cool My first fully lucid dream (:

I have had lucid dreams before, but they weren't fully lucid. I didn't really remember anything about lucid dreaming or anything really from my waking world, and I couldn't really control anything. A lot of time they were nightmares. I remembered that I should confront the chaser/enemy and ask them why they are in my dream, but I didn't really try hard enough, it didn't work, and I'd be scared out of lucidity.

Last night, though, I remembered lucid dreaming techniques from the real world, like rubbing my hands to stay in the dream (which I did). I was too excited to really think of things to do, so I stayed simple and talked to my friends who were already in the dream. I did try to make people appear by saying that I wanted them in my dream then opening up a door. Supposedly they're supposed to be outside the door when you do that, but it didn't work. After that, I kind of fell back into semi-lucidity, then out of it completely.

Also, I didn't try any induction methods either. I had been for two weeks or so, but then I stopped a few nights ago to take a break.

      So my questions are....

      1. How do you make people/things appear in your dreams?
      2. What are some things you like to do in your lucid dreams?
      3. What are some tips you have for having FULLY lucid dreams?

      Hola there!

      Congrats on your lucid dream.

      To answer your questions:

      1. Making things appear out of thin air is hard for me. I usually try to make them appear just out of sight (the next room, just around the corner, behind me), and then just go to them. So i'd tell myself I'd meet this or that person in the next room, and then once I'm confident that he or she'll be there (sometimes I even call out first and see if I get an answer), I'll walk in.

Having things sort of poof out of thin air, I think, is hard for my mind to accept. We are so indoctrinated that such a thing 'cannot happen' in our waking life, that for it to happen, even in a dream, is a fairly large suspension of disbelief. That said, if you really believe it can happen, and are confident that it will happen, it probably will. Its different for everyone.

      2. What do I like to do in my lucid dreams? Well, it breaks down in two things: entertainment and experimentation. The first is easy, what are some of the things you'd like to do in waking life, but cannot? Fly? Fight? Eat a cake? Wrestle with a crocodile? Have sex with a beautiful man or woman? Etc etc.

The second is more about the lucidity itself. Things like trying to have a dream guide, things like trying methods to gain better control or extend my lucid dreams more. Lately I've been experimenting a lot with using portals (via doors or windows) to get in a totally different dreamscene of my chosing.

It is useful to tell yourself in advance what you'll be wanting to do before you go to bed, and repeat it like a suggestion to yourself. Sometimes in lucid dreams, unless you are fully 100% lucid, it can be hard to remember and you get dumbstruck, not really knowing what to do

      3. Have more of them Seriously, the first lucid dreams tend to be of the kind you describe, but as you get more of them and get more used to them, you will find them starting to last longer, become more clear. Additionally, in lucid dreams there are techniques you can use. Some people use verbal commands like shouting: "Be more lucid now!", or sensory techniques such as foccusing on the dreamsensations. Above all though, my advise would be: don't let yourself get rushed, remain calm, don't worry about the dream ending or you having to do this or that before you're out of time. Taking a moment to ground yourself will go a long way towards helping you be more lucid.

      Hope that helps!

      1. I make people appear by thinking up reasons why they should be there. I usually use "X is behind that door because we agreed to meet there." I got this from BillyBob's tutorial on control: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=38954

      2. Flying and sex. :p Rather unoriginal isn't it? For my next lucid I plan to summon a shaman staff and cast fireballs with it.

      3. Another one of BillyBob's tutorials: http://dreamviews.com/community/showthread.php?t=23857

His tutorials helped me a lot, unlike many others I've read around here.
How I discover what my dreams are about

In my last lucid dream I made pink sparks between my palms. I was trying to make a white ball of energy...

To make people appear, try expecting them around a door or a corner, or closing your eyes and imagining them behind you ...

To have fully lucid dreams...hmm, try visulalizing it happening before bed...know it certainly can happen, and think positive, have a plan for what you will do when you become lucid, not if. I would wake after 5-6 hours, or before your long REM period, and repeat positive thoughts in your head, your plans, visualizations of it happening, expecting it to, for sure.

What do I like to do? Well, I haven't had a lucid dream in about a week, but I find it interesting to yes, go up to any odd girl I think is attractive, and have some fun, flying is always fun, and so is just f-ing around with dream characters, compare it to real life, it's your virtual reality, have fun with it.
