about to try a wild I think

I just woke up now at 5 in the morning. I woke from a dream that I was playing drums in my basement. It is so weird because everything in the basement was setup exactly like it is in real life andI was playing drum beats that I would play in real life so I didnt even think of doing a reality check. Then something happened and it should have been triggered me to know i'm dreaming blaaa. Anyways I woke up and wrote my dream down, then I felt SP about to start but woke up. I didnt plan on it but i'm gonna try a wild now. So I guess I hope I have lucid Dream now that its fresh on my mind going back to sleep. So any tips on if i'm wilding the correct way. Ill write back later to see if I became LUCID.

We will need to know more about what techniques you use and how you try to WILD before giving any feedback. WBTB is a great start, though. Good luck, and let us know how you did!

ok, I didnt become lucid. But I had very vivid dreams last night. The thing is, my dream recall has improved alot. In the past week I have remembered 1-4 dreasms every night. So does this mean I will be Lucid soon? Because I have been reading and thinking about this subject every day and night for about 2 weeks and nothing has happened yet. I wish I didnt make this thread tho because I still dont fully understand WILD. I wish I could just do DILD. I have some questions tho.

Is a WILD possible at anytime durring SP? (I only had 2 hours of sleep, woke up wrote in the journal, then I felt sleep paralysis starting but I stopped it.)

and it seems like wild's are the best, or most used. Is there a big differnece between WILD and DILD? I mean what one seems more real and detail, what one lasts longer?

WILDs are only possible when you are in a REM cycle, or about to start one. That won't happen right away at bedtime, but you hit the first cycle after about 90 minutes of sleep. You might feel like you are starting to get sleep paralysis without being at a REM cycle.

I believe that WILDs are commonly used because they are pretty much "instant" lucid dreams, and you only have to work to have them there and then. Everyone who has successfully done a WILD can tell you that just the feeling and experience of having a dream appear before you without being asleep first, is amazing. WILDs tend to be more vivid than DILDs from my own experience and from what I've seen on the forums, but this is not always the case. They can both last for a short time, or a long time. It's hard to tell.

You are free to use either technique, of course. Use the one that you want to try, and the one that works for you. DILDs require more consistent work, but is well worth it when it starts to pay off.
