had the strangest hypnic jerk and an idea

Alright, today by the afternoon I decided to take a nap (had nothing else to do ). I've been really stressed up these days, and my falling asleep was the weirdest.

As soon as I laid there, I entered a semi-dream state so quickly that it surprised me. Still, I wasn't completely lucid in it.

After some unconscious dreaming, my dreaming self decided to finally move in the dream. I just used my left leg to make the first move, and man was it scary! Suddenly I felt like I was falling forever back into my bed, I was so lost that, when I was back in wakeful state, I felt extremely dizzy.

This just reminds me of Laberge's explanation of a dream: your mind tries to visualise where you are, since you do not have external input. As soon as you receive some sensorial input, your mind uses it to work out your correct location.

Alright, there is nothing oh-so-special about that (what's wrong with hypnic jerks heh?), but it just gave me a great idea for VILDing. It involves treating your sleep and dreams in a different way.

I still haven't developped the idea, but the basis of it is forgetting where you are when falling asleep (thus making your mind try to work out where you are). The only matter about it is maintaining lucidity through the process, but VILDs are supposed to be challenging aren't they?

So what are your views on this kind of experience?

Saying quantum physics explains cognitive processes is just like saying geology explains jurisprudence.
