This last sounds like Sleep Paralysis (SP). Search it. Does that fit? I'm not aware of any physical danger from it, but it can be very scary & feel impossible to breathe.

I don't know about body-shocks. The smell+someone elses thoughts doesn't make a good match with anything I've heard of, medical or paranormal; you score high on my uniqueness scale :-). You did mention deja-vu - one possible cause of deja-vu would be a type of epilepsy, a broadly defined condition which might include your bodyshocks, but I don't know if epilepsy episodes could be that short - you get an instant or so of bodyshock then go back to feeling normal (if a little shaken), right?

Hey you a DJ? Just curious from your name?

Also, I find I can only LD when in light sleep - good job if you can do it in deep sleep

Sorry for the months and months of delays! I lost this site and just found it by luck.

Yeah I'm a DJ, nothing special really, just a few bars now and then. I spent 7 months backpacking around the world to places like Honolulu/Beachcomber-Fiji/Australia so played all over the world.

As for the other questions, I'm not over weight but could do with hitting the gym again!

As for me not being able to get my breathe when I'm asleep, its normally when Im rundown, once my girlfriend had to shake me as she noticed I stopped breathing. Quite mad!

Ive now noticed a pattern on my dream-controlling too. Mainly when I'm rundown or lacking serious sleep its so easy to control and wake up when I like. One dream latelly I was in a huge bar, the snooker table was 10times bigger than normal and this huge bouncer type fella started giving me grief from across the room (no dirty jokes please). When he made his way over I woke myself before he could get to me.

I must start diarising these properly.

I mentioned this to my dad, about controlling dreams and I expected him to laugh at me, but he reckons he's been able to do the same since he can remember. Probably all the 60's tripping got lodged in his sperm and bang I'm here.

De-javu issues I've had lately are getting worse. Normally I have this one where I can smell pond-water...if that makes sense. I went to visit my mates new house and he's got a problem with his pond, all the fish died in the same day, suspected poisoning by some kids but when I got there I had the exact same smell.

Anyway enouogh of me! Im gonna read up on your suggestions above thanks!

Haha. Must be true if you're having flashbacks

When you stop breathing during sleep (and it happens often) you probably want to get checked out. Sleep apnea's pretty serious :-\

Agreed on the sleep apnea. Worth checking out.

I'm sure nothing can match keeping a proper dream journal, but I'm lazy :-). I do my own thing and I think I get some of the same benefits. Maybe diarising is good if you're interested in particular dreams that stand out though.

I try to remember my dreams as I wake up (installing the intention as you go to sleep is obviously useful) and go through them, and the same thing if I wake up during the night.

Even if I think I've successfully remembered them, they can still fade quite easily. When I finally get up, I can remember that I was thinking about dreams, but not what I was actually remembering! So as I recall the dreams, I describe them, as if I was writing, typing, or talking, and it helps stop them fading. I think it helps provide an "anchor" for the dream memories, and they don't get washed away by the tide of wakefullness, or something like that :-).

Most recently, I've tried assigning numbers and titles to the dreams. I think most people will know what I mean by titles; they force you think about the dream and interpret it. Assigning numbers helps keep track, especially if you've got a lot of them; perhaps especially if you do it half way through the night, and then again in the morning.

Cheers guys, if my breathing dissorder happens more regular I will but I'm fairly sure its off partying too much. I remember my dreams when I wake up and then like you say I lodge them straight into my mind, then 2/3 hours later I cant fully remember them.
