Thread: different views of dreams

Does anyone have dreams in 3rd person, or is it generally 1st person...sometimes it seems as if there is a camera going around me like a movie or something, and then it sometimes merges with my own visual perception...its weird...anyone else have anything similar to discuss?

Never happened to me, but sounds almost OBE like!

It's actually pretty rare that I dream in third person perspective, but when I do, it's usually from a Diablo/Neverwinter Nights sort of angle (for we video game junkies, it's called the three-quarters topdown angle) and they're never lucid.

I would say that 99% of my dreams are in the first person, so I don't have much experience in third person dreaming to speak of.

I always dream in 3rd person. Well... almost always. I have been able to have a few 1st person dreams as of late. I think that main reason I can't have lucid dreams is my inability to dream in 1st person. It sucks. I think there has to be a reason, but I've posted up here about and looked all over and I can't find anything.

Normaly I am in first person but when I expand my awareness my perspective shifts to 3rd person, but I am still in control. Makes sense to me though, being aware of all that is around you would be more difficult in first person.

I dream in first person as well, but it is common for different scenes to change the "camera" angle. For instance, sometimes we see ourselves running as if in a video game, and sometimes we see as if from our eyes.

Alot of my non lucid dreams are in 3rd person, my lucids are in first person though.The non lucids are more like movie starring yourself..at least thats my experience..

Yeah, like a movie or video game. that's how all my dreams seem. I hate it...

yah, most of the time it seems like a movie and im the star...i guess thats called the hollywood dream or something...oh well...im having difficulty progressing, and i wondered if this 3rd person crap was preventing me from having lucid dreams, cause when i had partly controlled lucid dreams as a kid they were in first person...well AT FIRST they were in 3rd then when i was "aware" it would shift to 1st person...

oh well, giving up seems so easy at this point but screw it im gunna keep on goin..........
