Reality snapback when starting to dream

So I've been reading guides on here the last few days, absorbing information, trying things out, etc. I've been doing MILD but nothing (not surprising, and I'm not complaining.) I've also been trying various WILD techniques.

However, I think I have had the most success when not really following any particular technique at all.. I just think of LDing and try to remain conscious and focusing on a particular scene when this happens.

So I relax, and my thoughts start to drift into a dreamlike state, usually from the scene I'm thinking about (the thoughts get progressively weirder.) At first, I don't notice this, but then I REALIZE my thoughts are turning into a dream because they're going off track.

The problem is, once I realize I'm starting to dream I sort of SNAP awake.. wide awake. Rinse and repeat several times, until I get pretty annoyed and just stop thinking about LDing.. then I fall asleep normally.

      Any tips?

Well, I think your problem is don't think about that your starting to dreams. Lets your thoughts flow, but try to stay aware. Before you try this, just lets everything go with the flow and never realise ur dreaming. When your dreaming, you won't even have to realise it.
