Hey dreamers, thought I might gather some tips and opinions on a little problem of mine.

I've always figured DEILD (Dream Exit Induced Lucid Dream, for those uninformed) would be rather convenient for me. For whatever reason, I have never had trouble laying still immediately after waking. Even though I have yet to successfully DEILD, my mind tends to immediately jump to the technique upon waking.

It seems that regardless of how long I lie still, I never reach a substantial dream state, or, for that matter, sleep paralysis.

As the internet already has its fair share of woefully vague 'HALP MEH' threads, I'll share some info:

I tend to be conscious enough in the mornings to attempt DEILD on roughly 4 or 5 awakenings. Upon awakening, I will refrain from any movement, including the eyes.

Occasionally I will involuntarily swallow, though I am told this has little detriment to the process. I will bear through the stings and such that accompany WILD'ing. My extremities tend to feel cold, though it has become apparent they are not.

Recently I have managed to overcome the sudden 'Must STOP' urge that most people have come to know. I will keep in this state for 15-20 minutes before stopping. (On a slightly unrelated note, I've noticed I'm extremely rested after these sessions, requiring much less sleep. Is this just my imagination, or perhaps a super-rest state?)

I should think to restate that these sessions are done after several hours of sleep, with no movement other than an occasional swallow.

Any stories, helpful tips, etc.? I'm afraid to conclude that swallowing is my problem, as I can do little to change.

Many thanks,
