      Wife had first lucid!

Yay! My wife now knows I'm not completely crazy. She had been saying lately that she was jealous I could lucid dream, but didn't think she could do it. I told her briefly about reality checks, and she had a 1-minute lucid last night where she looked at her hands, and they were mutated. She was lucid, but in a black void, not really knowing what to do.

At least she's on her way now, and suddenly has a little bit of enthusiasm for it.

It's always a good thing when your wife stops thinking you're crazy
Tell her congratulations... maybe have her stop by the forum

Cool! Now you two can experiment with techniques together, and do things that require two people, like checking each other for REM and whispering things and stuff. I hope she really gets into it; at least she knows from you that it gets a lot better than that!

Cool, skysaw! It's almost as sweet for you as it is for her. "Giving" lucidity is a wonderful thing. Plus, it's nice when some one else finally sees what you're talking about and can understand what you mean by "being aware of a dream".

If it helps, we still think you're crazy. So all is not lost

My hubby has said he wanted to try it, so I printed out a couple of tutorials, but he refuses to read them.

Congrats to your wife! I hope she has many more!

That is fantastic. I agree that being able to share (not the questionable stuff) the idea of lucid dreaming with others, especially a loved one or partner, can open up alot of new doors. And it's also good to know she doesn't think your too crazy anymore

Yep, let her know about the forum, it may just pique her interest.

She knows about the forum, but so far doesn't have an interest in visiting. Perhaps when she starts having a little more success... we'll see. We're hoping that LD can help her with her nightmares.

Thats so great! I told my ex about it, but she didn't really try herself when we were together. Must be amazing that she had one, does she talk about it much with you?

She is starting to talk about it more now. We had a couple of odd moments during our vacation in Alaska, and she would say "time to look at our hands!" She meant as a reality-check, of course, since I've told her that is my favorite RC.

      All Right! She's hooked!

My BF hates talking about dreams and all things dream-related. But the other day he misunderstood something I told him--I said "I saw some boys sitting in the street in a chair without any legs--and he thought the boys didn't have any legs, but I meant the chair didn't have any legs. So he says, "I hope you did a Reality Check!"

      It's a start.
