      to any ex-weed smokers

Hello ex-tokers: I used to smoke at least 2 or 3 times a day every day and for multiple reasons I quit about 6 weeks ago. My dream recall has exploded and I've had more LDs than ever before in my life. Another interesting side effect is that I've been dreaming about smoking almost every night. Usually someone offers it to me and I'm sort of confused about whether I still smoke or not and I end up taking a hit. Then I feel really guilty and pissed off at myself. It's actually great motivation because when I wake up in RL I think about how I really don't want to have to deal with feeling guilty and pissed off at myself for smoking, so I'll just continue to abstain. Then last night I had an LD where I was offered a blunt and I thought well shit since I can't do this in RL anymore I might as well go crazy here and smoke up a storm. That was pretty fun too!

This post seems to be rambling and pointless, I guess I'm just wondering if there are any fellow LDers who used to smoke a lot and are now having interesting side-effects in their dream world from not smoking anymore?

You are very much correct with that. You just told my own story for me. I have been in and out of that for years now. I keep getting to a great LD level, but then I go and screw it up by having a weeb binge. Pot is the biggest lucid dream crippler I know of, other than death, coma, and relentless insomnia.
      You are dreaming right now.

It's been a LONG time for me, but I used to smoke pot like a chimney.

I had dreams about it for almost fifteen years after quitting. Never looked back though - it was like regaining my sanity... but I was involved in a lot of other crap too. I don't remember dreaming at all back then, though I vividly remember dreams from when I was younger and before I started using.

Stick with it. You'll be amazed at what comes back. It goes away so slowly and subtly that you don't really notice it dragging you down.

Ditto sluggo. Same for me except I haven't yet had a dream about toking (but I'm hopefull). Just curious, do you get "high" when dream-toking? Like are you stoned in the dream after you take a toke? Man I want that dream so bad!

Also, awesome nickname and avatar. I'm a Mr. Bill fan from wayyyy back too.
      I even used to have a t-shirt,

      and a book.

It's so long ago now that I can't even remember what the book was about except that Sluggo was a butcher in one part and he turned Mr. Bill's dog Spot into steaks and sausages for sale. Oh yeah, and there was a part when he was babysitting baby Mr. Bill and fed him babyfood full of straight pins, then there was an "accident" when he was changing the diaper and let's just say the safety pins weren't so safe. Classic!

Yeah, I have not smoked in a lot of years. When I did, it was really messing up my recall. It's funny you should make this topic now. Because recently I was walking at the park, and guess what I found!... A very nice looking marijuana plant. It was right next to a busy trail, people walked by it all the time. I was the first person to notice it. Of course, I could not just leave such a cool find there. So I pulled it and took it home. It's got some really nice buds, red hairs and all. So tempting to smoke some of it, But I don't want to mess up my Lucid Dreaming. I gave most of it away to somebody that smokes. He told me it's actually some what good. I kept some of it because I wasn't ready to part with my cool treasure yet. But yeah, I really don't think I want to smoke it and mess things up for myself. Lucid Dreaming is the best high there is! And It's both legal, and free. and since it can make you a very happy person. It's great for your health as well!

my dream recall shot up after about a week of not smoking. I can't quite say my LDs have exploded since I've only had 2 since I quit but 2 LDs in 6 weeks (5 if you dont count the 1st week of bad recall due to little sleep in the first week of quitting) is far more than I used to ever have while smoking.

      that's a sweet-ass shirt! mr. bill rules!

you know it's hard to say about getting high from dream-toking...usually it seems like everything gets a little extra fuzzy and tingly but the dream world is so surreal to begin with it almost feels like I'm high in the first place. so i guess the answer would be no I don't feel something that's identical to getting high in real life, but just the act of smoking can be fun since i dont do it in RL anymore.

nooo that's mr. sluggo and he's gonna be mean to me!!

i think it's true about the deep sleep...also I think in some cases you might have the same amount of dreams as normal but since your memory is impaired you have poor recall. when i was still smoking sometimes i would wake up with all these vague feelings and tip of the tongue almost memories of what happened but not enough to write anything meaningful down.

Yep...when I used to smoke I would sometimes quit for a while and my recall would be much better. I don't smoke anymore and think it would be fun to smoke in an LD. Now if only I could LD!!

Last time I smoked in a dream (probably about a month ago), was absolutely off my face!!

Even turned very 'trippy' towards the end. Oh how I love dreams!
