Thread: Is it possible that you dream that you're lucid?

Is it? Cause i've had a dream and I'm almost 140% sure that it was a lucid dream. Or was I dreaming that I was lucid? I did do realitychecks and stuff and I did a MILD after I woke up in the middle of the night.

A Lucid dream is just realizing that you're in a dream. If you did do a RC, then Im pretty sure you did have one. Not dreaming of having one, although Im not really sure how the latter would work

I think it's impossible to dream you are aware you are dreaming.

But it equates to a very low lucid dream anyway
By definition the moment you recognise its a dream, its no longer a normal dream.
Thus technically, the answer still stays 'no, its not possible'

yeah ive had a dream where I dreamt that I was lucid, but it wasnt actually a lucid dream. Its very hard to describe, I dreamt that I was lucid, but there wer enone of the features of a lucid dream. The dream was still 'on rails'. I dreamt that I was controlling my dream but really i had no concious control over it.

You can have a WILD within a dream. but even tho WILD was fake, lucidity is real...

I think same applies to other LD induction methods...

I don't think it's possible if you are meaning that you aren't really lucid but the dream is somehow faking it. Everytime in a dream that you realize you are dreaming is a Lucid dream. It could be low-level lucidity or no control, but you are still lucid.

If you are meaning that Is it possible to have a lucid dream within a non-lucid dream, then it's yes.

I knew that I dreaming, so I was lucid. Still I had a feeling that I did not have full control so I guess it was low-level lucid dream.

well twice i have had normal dreams and i was dreaming that i was asleep and dreaming..

Yeah thats what happened to me, I dreamt that I went to bed and began dreaming (a dream within a dream) it was also a false lucid dream and a false awakening (I dreamt that I had a false awakening back into the original dream where I dreamt I was awake)

I would say that it is possible, speaking from experience. But it should not be seen as 'a dream within a dream' more a gain of low-level lucidity followed by a sudden loss of it some time afterwards. i.e. I had a dream in which I was sleping, and then I had an LD. I qwoke up and my brother told me he had rang up0 an 'LD Helpline' and placed the reciever next to my ear, with loads of yelling and weird talking. I didn't think for once it was a bit weird and maybe it was a false awakening.

So weird... I had a dream the other night (wooohoo me!) and I don't remember anything about it other than I was climbing down a wall and I remembered thinking "Wouldn't it be cool if i was having a lucid dream right now". The next morning I wondered if i had just dreamt about being lucid or i really was. I later realized i really was lucid but like you all have said it was very low-lvl.

I have had this happen to me before... was a crazy fun dream!!!! False awakenings rock. I love it when i dream and I'm confused if it is reality or not!!! SOOOO COOL!!!!!
