      Question bad LD recall

when i LD, i don;t remember my dreams any better than if i wasn't lucid. is this normal?

      does this mean that:
      -i'm not lucid? or
      -i lost lucidity?

or is it possible to have no difference in recall?

I think its normal, but can be improved. Not sure about a difference though, but in recall and it doesn't mean that you lost lucidity or you weren't even lucid. Starting a Dream Journal will help your recall if you haven't already. Otherwise I don't know.

I don't think it is possible to have no difference in recall first of all. If you lose lucidity and the dream continues it will be harder to recall the lucid, or if you have a false awakening (which happens alot to me).

I have awful dream recall but i recall my lucids pretty well. Do you have trouble recalling your lucid upon waking or with the reasons above?

Most people remember their lucid dreams better than normal dreams. I believe the main reason for this is people tend to wake up from lucid dreams more often than not.

I have some low-grade lucid dreams where I remember nothing but the moment I became lucid or semi-lucid. Generally those are dreams where I lost lucidity quickly, and didn't wake up or write them down 'til after the dream was over.

I also have many dreams where I remember nothing but the fact that I had a dream at all. This tends to happen when I'm not dream journaling.

On average, dreams that occur just before I get up in the morning are easier to recall than early-in-the-night dreams, even if I get up in the middle of the night and record the early dreams. I often remember only a snippet or two from them.

I don't seem to have a problem with false awakenings harming dream recall of lucids...at least not when I'm interested in LDing. Two nights ago was the second time I can remember in my on-and-off LDing history of having a fascinating lucid dream followed by a false awakening, in which I went to write down the dream in my dream journal while I was still dreaming. It's a little disappointing when the real awakening comes and I realize I hadn't written down a snippet.

No dream goals at the moment...just flying and letting stuff happen is kinda fun, and it's hard to motivate myself to try LDing lately.
