The possability of enlightenment

I was bored one day, and thinking about cultures that claim they can achieve enlightenment through years of meditation. What if their quest for enlightenment is actually an elaborate lucid dream. What they want most in life is to become enlightened, so that is the main content of their dreams. As well, it's a matter of believing you can, so obviously the ones you hear of who reach enlightenment are the ones who never doubted they could. I don't know, I just think it's an interesting topic to discuss. What if thousands of years of discipline in the search for God is really just a lucid dream induced through meditation.

This seems extremely likely. It makes more sense than anything else. I wouldn't get into it here, though. There are a lot of religious people here who probably don't want to think about that possibility. I know I wouldn't.

Maybe we are all just borne silly, and forgot that we are all enlightened beings already. It's like we suffer from a bump on the head something. Perhaps we are all just dream characters playing a part in a bigger elaborate dream, and like when we wake up in this world, we forget we are dreaming. Every morning we wake up only to simply play out the actor's part that becomes you & me of everyday life? You think?
