      Question about SP

Has anybody on here had a bad experience in real life prior to sp to the point where they think that it may have brought it on in their sp? I used to have a re-accuring dream/sp that i was levitating in the air (slanted) while vibrating violently. I could swear that i could feel it(the vibrating) and when i awoke it was almost as if i was not completely consious although i knew that i was and i felt multiple dark presences in my room. I KNOW that they were there there is absolutely no doubt!! Also i was not able to move when i awoke, it was as if i was glued to my bed. I always wondered why i had these re-accuring dreams and i have not had one in quite awhile. I never knew that anybody has had similar experienced to mine untill now. I always wondered what it meant and wondered if i had brought it on by things that i was doing in my everyday life. The only thing that i could conclude was that prior to these dreams i had always done cocaine............

I have sleep paralysis about twice a week since i was 10 and so far i dont think it has anything to do with my daily life. I've have never done any sort of drugs so that was not the reason of my episodes, but it might've been in your case. All of my nightmares end up triggering a SP episode(maybe because i conciously wake up from them), but not all of my SP are triggered by nightmares. I know how it feels to feel the presences in the room i used to do everything i could to move or scream, because i thought if i let go and went back to bed i was going to die. But i found out i could turn SP into something useful, Lucid Dreaming, since then i dont feel any more presences in my room.

My experience with sleep paralysis and the associated vibrations was that the moment I saw them as opportunities to enter lucid dreaming rather than as objects of terror, they completely lost their terrifying aspect. I used to be terrified of them when I was younger. I would be dreaming, and suddenly the whole world felt out of joint, contmaminated by this evil presence that surrounded me. Then I read how this experience could be used to transition to an OBE or lucid dream state, and the terrifying aspect completely vanished. What I used to be terrified of is now my Holy Grail of the night.

Heh FarSeeker i totally agree with you, what i used to fear has become my main method of lucidty now. It's really easy to go back to sleep when you can't move at all, because i know im just one step away from going back into the dream.
