      Is it real or what?

Last night, I had what I think was my first lucid dream. To be honest, yesterday was the first day that I found out about lucid dreaming. In this dream, I had some control (from what i remember). What I am worried about is that in my excitement to have one of these dreams, I dreamed that i was dreaming of one, thus creating a false lucidity. Do you think this could happen? Opinions? I am much looking forward to securing myself in this interesting community, and learning how to gain a better 'lucidity'.

      Thanks in advance!

this can definately happen. But no-one else can know which one happened to you!

Even if you decide it was a dream-lucid-dream (lol), don't let that get your confidence down. If LDing is on your mind, you should see future success.

      Goodluck

Does it really matter? Is there really a difference? Think about it this way...

Try to remember everything you did yesterday while you were awake. Can you remember, from when you woke up to when you went to bed, every detail? Do you remember perfectly every sensation and every visual you saw vividly? Or is it all just a vague memory or recollection.

To me, having a lucid dream is exactly the same. At first I was a bit worried because, like you, i thought that i was probably dreaming of having lucid dreams. But then one night I had a fully lucid dream where i still thought about a thread here about the very same topic that you're worried about now. At the time (in the dream) it was perfectly real and vivid, yet when i woke up i had my doubts yet again.

Thats what got me thinking about real life in the same way. I cant for the life of me remember every detail about yesterday. In fact, yesterday seems pretty much like a dream to me. Just a memory. All we really have to go by is whats happening to us right now. Whether your memories come from dream experiences or real life experiences, its all the same.

As long as you realise at the time that you're dreaming, its a lucid dream and equivalent to real life (except it exists only in your mind hehe). What happens afterwards is your memory fading and your doubt setting in, but doesnt the same happen in the real world too? Did i really bungee jump yesterday? Or was it a dream? Did i really have my first kiss yesterday or was it just a dream?

Enjoy your experiences, whether they're in the real world or the dream world.

      Hope I've made some sense
