      Does it matter?

Do you think it matters that usually i'll try to WILD without doing a WBTB first? As a college student i'm on a rather tight schedule, so unless i go to bed ealier or something i can't risk a big waste in sleep

I know that when doing WBTB you'll fall right back to REM stage, but i've kind of successfully done a WILD when first going to bed. I do get vibrations rather soon, sleep paralysis seems to come to me fast.

I think it helps to do it with WBTB, but is possible without. Sounds like you're really close anyway though!

Well, obviously you have to wake up first, but I always go right back to bed. You're supposed to take thirty minutes to think about lucid dreaming, most of the time it takes that long to get into a WILD anyway.

b12, how long have you been trying to lucid dream? I just started four days ago. You seem to be doing really well.

I've known about controlling your dreams since the summer. For the past couple months i've been passively trying it -- no luck, but increased dream recall, and i can usually lucid dream (no control) anywhere from 3 to 6 times a week.

But as for sincerely trying to lucid dream, it's only been, eh...probably not more than 3 or 4 weeks. I'm getting close, i can feel it! In fact, all day today i've been saying "tonight will be the night i control my dreams!"

Good luck with that (tonight I mean). I feel the same way. I have a feeling that I'm close. You haven't been trying for very long, but you seem to be getting great results. Do mind sharing your routine with me, so that I can compare mine with yours and see where I can improve?
