      Gates of Dreaming

Does anybody have any information about the seven gates of dreaming as per Castenada?

I found a wiki article about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Art_of_Dreaming

It seems very esoteric, but I thought I would ask and see if anyone has any experiences with these gates. Some say that Castenada is for real while others believe that all of his books are fiction. However, could passing these gates be beneficial for the majority of lucid dreamers?

That's pretty interesting. I think it would be benificial in the fact that it's a 7-step process of getting into and maintaining a dream, so you know what you're doing and where you're going instead of just waiting for a dream to come to you. I'm going to try it

Listen.. that wiki article is rubbish, surely written by somebody who hasn't read the book in which the Gates are detailed. Far better to read "The Art of Dreaming" and then you'll see what I mean..

.. and don't forget that there are seven Gates in total, but that Castaneda only ever published four of them. He left it up to the individual to discover for himself what the remaining three are, using the first four Gates as guides, as well as the "Dreaming Emissary", which is a disembodied voice that one will encounter in LDing, if you follow Castaneda's instructions...

... and then there are the "inorganic beings" and their classifications..

Surely just a short time now until this thread gets moved to "Beyond Dreaming".

If this stuff interests you, you should also read "Toltec Dreamer" by Graham Kane, which outlines the author's struggle to overcome the first four Gates, over a period of thirty years. Excellent stuff and a really good read.

.. and just a word of warning: Toltec Dreaming is not for the faint hearted. It's not a game.. it's deadly serious and can seriously drive you mad.. and I mean that in the literal sense. It's dangerous stuff, and makes LaBerge look like an amateur. So be warned if you think that it's going to be easy. It's not.

Well now you've piqued my interest!!! Even if the wiki article is garbage i'm going to have to go ahead and take a look anyway
If you’re gonna microwave that burrito, I want you to poke holes in the plastic wrapping because they explode. And I'm tired of cleaning up your little burrito doings. You dig me?
