My mind doesn't fill in the details

For about the last week, I've noticed that in my dreams I have absolutely no clue what is going, yet I still follow the plot line as if I knew, but I knew that I didn't know.

Example: I was in prison for a murder that I commited, I didn't remember the murder at all and I was going to defend myself with a plea of self defense because I had no clue what happened.

Example2: I'm in a house that I know I live in, but I've never seen it before and I don't know my way around it.

Does anybody else have this problem? This all began about a week ago when I started sleeping above my covers so I could wake up and do a MILD (50% successful so far). I'm hoping to use this to my advantage by recognizing it as a dream sign.

Sorry, that's just funny to me.

While I've never had dreams where I was so intensly clueless, I have had dreams where I took for granted that I knew something, but wasn't sure how I knew. Like once I was performing an opera that I'd never learned or memorized, but my mind was creating it pretty well nonetheless.

Alternatively, there was a time where I was performing an opera that I HAD done before in life, but I couldn't remember a single note.

I think my reply was only loosely associated with your original question, Death-Wuad, sorry.

Happen all the times. Get enough information so you dont stand there like a moron but you make everything up as you go, because there really isnt any other details. You knew you where there for murder thats all you need. Chances are you didn't dream the part about murdering someone so how can you remeber it? It never happened.

I've had that happen before. I dream that I'm back in high school, and I don't know what my course schedule is, or I have to take a calculus exam or something. Fortunately, the dream has recurred often enough that about 80% of the time, I recognize it as such and become lucid. Then I'm back in high school again, but with all the knowledge I have now, and the fun truly begins...

Hah yeah I've had the same dream about high school and not knowing my schedule. They stopped occuring now that I'm no longer IN high school, which is a little disappointing because now I could have used that as a dream sign.

Yeah this happens to me all the time. I am somewhere where I have little to no idea why I'm there. If this happens a lot try using it to your advantage. During the day always and constantly question how you got to where you are and see if it makes sense. When this becomes habit you'll do it during dreams too and hopefully induce lucidity.

Thats a common reality check some people suggest. Question how you got some place. Your awake its a pretty simple answer, in a dream you almost always have a problem answering it.
