I Am 16 Years Old, And I Have High Blood Pressure.
Not That, About 136 Over 70 Something.
I Was Wondering If Having High Blood Presure Can
Throw Off Your Ability To Have Lucid Dreams, Or Maybe Even
Making It Longer To Fall Asleep.
It Always Takes Me A While (2 Hrs) To Finally Fall Asleep.

A Lot Longer Than Many Other People I Know (instantly)

I'm no doctor, but as long as you dream, then you can have Lucid Dreams. Unless there is something psychological preventing that.
      That's my opinion

How About The Falling Asleep Part?
I Know That When You Sleep, Your Heart Rate Goes Way Down.
      Cause Your Chillin' :p

Maybe Because My Heart Pressure Is Up, That Swhy It May Take Me Longer To Sleep. Maybe?

Any Doctors On This Forum? :p

I had the same issue when your age. Even at the age of 23, I average 142/80. It does not really make any difference on your dreaming except for difficultly falling asleep. I can relate to you in the sense that it takes a long time and that is why I learned to meditate and take up dream control in the first place - it really helped a lot. (My blood pressure does lower significantly quite often now).

Don't worry about it. Unless you have anxiety attacks or something, it is actually normal to have a pressure rate as such that you have.

My Doc Says That My Pressure Should Be A Lot Lower, Cause I Run Cross Country And I Eat Real Healthy. My Pressure Is Higher Than My Moms Or Dads. Its Kinda Sad. But Thanks For The Words.

      Hi mikestankus..

First of all, I am sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with high blood pressure at such a young age.. but it's not the end of the world. I too had such a diagnosis in 2000, but found that it didn't affect my LDing at all..

.. and as far as falling asleep goes, it usually takes me a couple of hours too, and I have never found any adverse effects as regards my LDing.

      All the best to you.

I HAVE RECENTLY FOUND A CD THAT I LISTEN TO TO HELP ME FALL ASLEEP.
ITS 35 MINUTES LONG AND YOU LISTEN TO A GUY TALK YOU INTO DEEP SLEEP.
AND FOR ME, IT WORKS GREAT.
AND ITS COOL, CAUSE YOU CAN COMPARE WHEN YOU FALL ASLEEP, TO PREVIOUS NIGHTS

LIKE LAST NIGHT (EXp) I DONT REMEMBER MUCH OF THE CD
SO THAT MEANS I FELL ASLEEP QUICKLY

AS OPPOSED TO OTHER NIGHTS WHEN I REMEMBER MUCH OF THE CD, WHICH MEANT IT TOOK LONGER FOR ME TO SLEEP.

BUT FOR ME IT HAS BEEN PRETTY SUCCESSFUL.

Try not talking in all caps as it insinuates shouting which perpetuates high blood pressure, lol.

OMG am I the only one that has to read your posts really slowly lol - For some reason when you capitalise all the first letters of your words, I cannot read it fast...

Anyway - IF you don't know the cause for your hypertension, could it be something that you don't know of. Assume you don't suffer with obstructive sleep apnoea? This can cause hypertension. But there are so many causes of hypertension, most commonly excessive alcohol consumption, high salt intake, being overweight or obese, having high cholesterol, not exercising, high levels of stress, a poor diet or low levels of potassium, magnesium and calcium in your diet.

I don't have experience of how this can affect dreams, but your heart rate slows down, once you enter deep sleep, and would have thought you would still enter this regardless of having hypertension. Although it may have some detrimental affect on your sleep cycles? But I don't know specifically.
