Problem I'm having is this a normal feeling?...

Ok so I have been trying to get lucid for a bit not that long but yeah I've been doing RCs quite oftena nd I tell myself that I'm going to become lucid before I go to bed or I tell myself I will remember by dream enough to write it all down but then I go to sleep and just like that I wake up and I feel like I had no effect on my dream at all. And since I've started trying to get lucid my dream recall has actually gotten a little worse. Like I only remmeber parts of dreams. So I just wanted to know if everyone else has this feeling of not having an effect on their dreams or not?

Just stop trying so hard. Usually when this happens to people, they find that soon after they stop actively trying to get lucid is when they finally do. So just stop trying so hard for a little while.

Eminence has it right. Try to relax about LDs for a while. I've found that often my most productive nights are when I have the goal to simply get a good nights sleep.
