Has anyone learnt anything from LD's

Have any of you out there asked questions, about life, or about you life
and got guidance, or found solutions to problems by using lucid dreams.

For example if you wanted inspiration for painting a picture, you could get idea's and visions from using your ld's as to what you saw in your dream you could paint....

or if you wanted to make an album, you could use your lucid dream to
walk in a record store and pic off your album on the shelf and listen to the
songs. Then when you wake up you can use the songs......

Anyone tried something like this? does it work....
What is the potential of LD's, I know I'll have to find this out for myself. But anyone ahead my be able to give me their experiences.

I don't know if this is exactly what you were asking for, but I had a semi-lucid dream once that gave me GREAT insight into the current state (at the time) of my relationship with my girlfriend. I was feeling pressure to try to "keep up" with her and be a certain way. The dream that gave me some perspective of this was kind of funny, but also felt very meaningful by the time it was over. It featured a long "reality-show" type race through a city/country. I was busy running most of the time and then I realized it wasn't real (not sure if I realized it was a dream, though) and I slowed down and felt much more at peace, by the end I had found my girlfriend again and we laid in the grass together and shared our experience. The basic feeling I got was that no matter what our individual pace and style, we will get to the same place to share our experiences later and that I really shouldn't feel pressured to be a certain way or keep a certain pace - the race is imaginary. It really added a perspective to my life and I think it still rings true for me.

I've never tried a direct Q & A approach, but I have found that while I'm exploring a dream, my mind will throw out distractions and temptations, like part of me is actively trying to make me forget to remember that I'm dreaming, and the images/experiences I try to fool myself with are always enlightening later, when I'm awake. Often, they give me a good idea of what I'm using to distract myself from being lucid in waking life.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

Re: Has anyone learnt anything from LD's

First off, welcome to DV Star_Seed!!!!!!!!!!!

One potential I found from LDing was putting a stop to nightmares. I used to have recurring ones about tornadoes, ever since I was a child. But by learning to recognize tornadoes as a dream sign, I soon was able to become lucid and therefore no longer fear them. In fact, now these dreams are really cool, since I've never seen a real tornado before, and they're not dangerous in a dream! I know that a lot of people use LDs to help them overcome nightmares. But I never thought about using them for artistic endeavors...hmmmmmm, very interesting idea.
