      Dreams inside of Dreams

Has anyone ever had a dream inside of a dream? i did awhile ago and it really creeped me out a lot. its like i was having a dream (didn't know i was) then something happened in that dream that really scared me and i woke up (or so i thought) and i was on my couch and my mom was in her chair and i told her about my dream and then she did something that made me think that it was a dream or just really messed up and then i woke up again. it was really really creepy. i think that one dream i cant forget.

That's a false awakening! Happen often to some people.

I remember a dream where I went to bed and fell asleep into another dream.. like a reverse FA! I was so surprized that I was eventually able to wake up from that.

You had a false awakening and those can be very confusing... personally I love them!!! Freaks me out but it's always such a cool experience when I actually wake up. Sometimes false awakenings can turn into great lucid dreams!

Sweet Dreams and happy false awakenings

One of my WIERDEST dreams ever was a false awakening. It was actually the first FA I can remember having. And this is why it was so wierd. Being as logical as I am, subconsciously I pretty much know on SOME level that I am dreaming. But when I had this false awakening (the first one I can remember) I 100% thought I was awake, I didn't go lucid though. And from my FA.....I can't even describe how wierd it was. Evil dancing silverware, witches on broomsticks, lasers turrets mounted in my room.....it was bad lol. Now I have a false awakening about once every month or two, and they don't freak me out anymore because after coming here, I do an RC every time I wake up. Now if I have a false awakening, I usually just wake up again right away after I RC.

Yep, like I said on AIM, its a false awakening. Its wierd, but normal, and can be used as a dreamsign.

that happened to me once when i was a kid. it freaked me out. :)

i don't remember what i dreamt in my dream, but i thought i woke again in my room. then some how i fell through a cloud in the sky, everything then turned dark, i was scared. then i felt a sensation where my solar plexus was being sucked in, and out my back through the bed or something. then i woke up, more like jumped up. i'm sitting on the bed gasping and wonder what just happened. :) :) :)

aaaah, i have had one, i will atempt to discribe it. it was before i learned about lucid dreaming anyway, i was lying in my bed when i woke up, then started floating away, i said this isnt right, and then bam, i was back in my bed, i got up, and walked to my door, (i then started floating again) and again i was like, ggrrr! and i popped back into my bed. I woke up again and made it all the way down the hall when i started floating again. bam, back in my bed, i started to float again (by this time i was a little angry, for i couldnt wake up) this happened about 2 more times before i actually "woke up" it was weird, and REALLY annoying....

That's hilarious!! Annoying is better than frightening, anyway. All of mine have been scary.

      false awakenings!!!!
I love 'em, and they don't happen enough as they are often dream signs. Quite often, when I fly in dreams its in the manner of getting some kind of cosmic joke (like the oft quoted 'throw yourself at the floor and miss') or by seeing things in a slightly different way ('its not the spoon that bends'). So I often dont realise I'm dreaming and think that somehow, this time I've really got it. This feeling is amplified 1000-fold with a false awakening as its like.... WOW I REALLY REALLY REALLY CAN FLY OMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD.
