I learned about lucid dreaming 1 1/2 years ago I kept on waking up paralyzed and I dare not tell anyone about it because they'll never understand nor believe me I Googled my symptoms and I found web pages that talked about Astral Projection and Lucid Dreaming once I got over my fears I just laid still and I had a wonderful experience of being out of my body temporarily other times I steped into my own dream dimension.

It was so cool so I kept this to my self and only talked about it online with like minded people it's my own thing I do now for fun when I get bored.

I too got a long one, but long story short: I ran down the road and fealt light, and soard to the sky.. As a kid. I could recall it when I woke up, and been focused on the experience ever since.

Now I live paralell lives, remembering more and more..
I know who I am, as I become...

      Please do!

As for me, back in 1998 I received a catalog in the mail called "Things You Never Knew Existed" and in it was an ad for the NovaDreamer by the Lucidity Institute.

I ordered it and I had a lucid dream the first time I wore it.

      I've been hooked ever since!

I was reading about dreams on Wikipedia and there was a little "Lucid Dreaming" section and I realized I had one when I was 9 or something. Soon afterwards, I found DreamViews and spent the rest of the day browsing the forum, and had another (my best) lucid dream the very next night.

Then there was a several-month-long dry spell.

Mine was actually back about three years ago when I was on a music forum and someone had posted a thread titled "Lucid dreaming." I googled searched it and found out more about it and that I have experienced it myself. And then I began to craft my skills

I've been doing it since I was a kid, so I learned a lot by experience. However, going to DV about 6 months ago was the first time I tried to learn "formally."

I heard about it about 20 years ago and tried it without any success. Since then I have journaled my dreams on and off. I am an ametuer dream analysyst and while looking for forums on dreams found this one and it has reignited my interest.

Being on a forum where there are loads of people who have actually achieved it has given me the push to try harder at it.

      Hi.

I Always had this ability to realise I was dreaming but did not make any thing out of it until september where I had several i a row. I searched the internet and found various forums. I started training an now I have several lucid dreams a week.
I love this forum because I can`t talk to others aboute it sa they simply don`t understand.. However I have one friend I tell, and her mother can look in to the future and still she thinks I`m crazy.. Lol..

It was the opposite for me, I thought it was normal to know that you were dreaming. I believe I learned that it was not common to know that you were dreaming when I started using the Internet and discovered a website called Unsolved Mysteries. If I remember correctly, that was where I first heard of the term "lucid dreams".

You took psychology in 5th grade?

I was on another forum about a year and a half ago, when someone mentioned it and how cool it was. I think I found LD4all first but their forum fudged up my computer or something so I joined here instead!

I was reading the webcomic Dreamland Chronicles. They mention Lucid Dreaming in a scientific context, though I think now that I look at some of the information and successful attempts here they got a few things wrong...but not much.

I had, to a very minor extent, been aware that something called Lucid Dreaming was possible, but had little idea what it was and it fell under the classification of 'New Age and Occult' in my mind, and therefore something that probably didn't really work or was some sort of mind trick (I had had a...'new age experience,' I guess you'd say, and had been disappointed to discover that most everything there was tricks of the mind or could otherwise be scientifically explained, so I tended to avoid most things related to that now).

I did a google search for Lucid Dreaming, wondering what it was, and Dreamviews was the first link on my search. Hopped in, read up, joined, and started my DJ within a few days of finding the site. And here I am...

This thread has allready been made before, by me.

Well my thread didn't last that long, maybe yours will last longer. I found out about lucid dreaming on Howstuffworks when looking up how dogs work (don't ask)

I was bored one night, and started browsing the wikibook site. There was a link to "Featured Books" so I thought, Hey! This must be the good stuff. Screw looking around by category and whatever. I am always one to be intrigued by the paranormal and inexplicable aspects of life, so my eye was caught by the book "Lucid Dreaming." Huh? What's this? What I found was, ironically, something beyond my wildest dreams.

      Welllllll *takes deep breath*

I had a very wierd dream, so I searched online for a dream interpretation, and sure enough I got to this one site (dream moods), and searched up my dream. With enough avail for myself, I was fascinated by dreaming, so I looked around the sight. I saw the peculiar subject of Lucid Dreaming and began to read about it. As I read the page I got really excited. Seeing the website didnt have much information, I searched up. The first few places I visited had a scare amount of info, until I found the Dream Views main page. I learned more about, and discovered I've had MANY before. After I scraped up everything on there, I went eagerly to sleep. And luckily had a very enjoyable Lucid Dream that night. So, I revisited the site, and re-read it. Even viewed some tutorials. Then, I went to the forums. After lurking big time, I decided to make an account. And here I am

      Forgotten~

I guess I was about 12, in grade 7. A friend and I were talking about dreams (like we normally do) and I said something along the lines of 'I wish I could have been in control of that dream, I would have gone up to talk to him (a crush)' She then said, aren't you always in control of your dreams? I said, no, only about half the time. She went on to tell me that she always had control of her dreams. Being the researcher that I was/am, I researched the topic. I found out that being able to control your dreams was called lucid dreaming, and that not everyone could do it. I then found this amazing website, joined, and have had barely any ld's since!
