      your least favorite place

what was your least favorite place you have had a LD? i know we all love all our LDs, but what was your least favorite place.

mine would be a boring old neighborhood. It was just a hot boring place. No one was around, and i had no cool powers. And i couldnt fly. I wanted to go to alaska to play in the snow, but instead i had to settle with jumping off a roof and hitting the ground

it was either that or the gas station LD XD

I don't like getting stuck in my bedroom during a LD. I'm always trying to ghost through the walls or cieling or windows to get out... it never occurs to me to just open the damned door and be free.

Same here, although I do walk through the door... but then I end up having to walk through the whole house and through another door to go outside, and by the time I've done that I'm all creeped out because my house is always all gloomy and ghost-ie feeling.

Now that you mentioned that, it will probably happen to me.

Come to think of it my LD house is usually kind of creepy and somewhat dark.
Usually I'm the only one there, bumping into walls and windows like a demented fly trying to get out of the house. I guess its good that I'm alone though. I'd hate to hear the things my DCs would call me if they saw me repeatedly smacking head first into walls.

      Hey there,

I sometimes have these lucid dreams which I call 'dream paralysis'. Basically I find myself in a false awakening in my bed, instantly recognizing I'm dreaming, but unfortunately I can't really escape the bed. I can get out but I can never move more then a few steps before finding myself right back in my bed. That is, if I get out at all.

Escaping this dream paralysis is extremely difficult, and often as not I don't manage it at all and wake up. These are definately my least favorite places to start a lucid dream in

(As a sidenote, I believe this phenomenon to appear when I'm in really shallow sleep, close to awakening, but my body is still in sleep paralysis. The sensation of this SP probably filters down into my dream, causing this trap).

I try to leave my own house ASAP. Nothing fun is there. Also, I hate being inside most buildings, because they often become too complex to navigate and explore!

Another thing I hate is when the sky gains a ceiling. This sucks, especially when flying. Sometimes walls pop up, too, and the next thing I know I'm in a building again, unable to fly at all!

Probably some symbolism there. I see it with 'boring house,' but I don't know what to make of the ceiling and walls in the sky.

anywhere i don't recognize...it feels like when i'm lucid in a completely random environment (like a big house ive never seen before) i begin to contemplate what is in front of me, rather than what isn't in front of me, which seems to be pretty counter productive to my ability to control my environment
Paprika: Don't you think dreams and the Internet are similar? They are both areas where the repressed conscious mind vents.

John Lennon: I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now? Reality leaves a lot to the imagination.

now that i think of it, i have had a LD kinda like that. I can move, but the blanket wont get off my leg so im trapped in bed. I used to have eye problems in my LDs well. They just wouldnt open!

i change my answers to those

you could always just set your dream house on fire. That would make a pretty cool LD in a house.

same here. When I'm stuck inside my house its really creepy and I can't ever find a way out. But the worst LD I've had is when I kept getting pulled to the ground and couldn't walk or get out of my hotel room, it was terrifying.
Dreaming is forgetting the basis of reality, remembering it is to be lucid.

This has happened to me many times now. You also feel as if there's a presence beside you which is causing all this

My bed, because I'm usually paralyzed in there and it takes some work to snap out of it.

I'm suspended in a void of nothingness...a sphere that is the sum of all existence is just out of my grasp...it is shrinking...I have to get to it...it's gone...I'm lost forever...

      A bad place to be.

hmm... off the top of my head I would say school. For some reason whenever I'm lucid there I don't get much out of it. And plus I spend half my day there anyway.

I would have to say a dark house or basement. There's just something unsetteling about them.

The majority of my WILDs start out with that annoying lucid sleep paralysis. One thing I've tried that works is to float up off of the bed, though usually because I'm stubborn I try to will myself to break free of it. Another way, something I tried last night, is to let yourself sink into the bed and free fall. It's exhilarating.

      My house.

The reason being, most of my nightmares are in my house, and if I get lucid at all it's from a nightmare.

I've been forced into slave labour (zapped my guards into oblivion and escaped when I became lucid in my house)

I've been held captive and tortured by the KKK (hell knows why the want me) in my house. I became lucid, and dealt with him in a rather unpleasant manner, in my house.

Several times a troll attacked me in my house. I became lucid, created a wand and blasted it's brains out as it went for the kill.

      - - -

And so on. My dream world house has a pretty nasty history.
I'm not a Lurker - I prefer to frighten people from the front.
I'm a Member now - my signature's in for the chop.
