      Subconsciously aware that I'm dreaming

I had a dream the other night where I was subconsciously aware that I was dreaming. My conscious mind was still asleep. I remember thinking in my dream voice, "I must be dreaming..."etc. When I woke up I remembered that like a normal dream. I had no conscious control. Is this considered lucid?

You made the jump from dreaming to conscious realization that you were dreaming. You were lucid, at least for a while.

I'm thinking that in a low level lucid dream....it is the subconcious being aware not the concious mind as a result of day residue, from coming to this website to knowing that U could be in a dream. But for high level lucidity as in U can remember the date and other waking reality stuff....it IS the concious mind.

Subconscious. I wasn't consciously aware that I was dreaming. It's like when you have a normal, non-lucid dream. That mindset was thinking that I was dreaming.

Some people claim that it is possible to have a non-lucid dream about being lucid, without "really being lucid." It sounds like this is what you're referring to. My view, however, is that if you said aloud that you were dreaming while you were dreaming, then you were lucid, period.

By the way, with the exception of some of the high-level, hyperrealistic lucids, all lucid memories are remembered "like a normal dream." That is, even though you are lucid in a dream, it is still a dream, and as such it usually has that fuzzy, dreamlike quality. It is not the same as remembering, say, what you had for dinner last night. This is an extremely common misconception.
