Any Adverse Effects of the Amino Acid Blend?

I tried the amino acid blend last week, i.e, 300mg suntheanine, 2g aspartic acid, 4g glutamine. Couldn't get to sleep very well, so didn't get lucid. Remembered a clearer, longer dream though. My question is, what happens to you if you take it frequently, or everyday?

I'm not sure about amino acids... what are they supposed to do?

Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Thanks, I've actually been visiting here quite a long time, just reading posts

The amino acids are supposed to make you lucid after 5 or so hours of sleep, by stimulating glutamate receptors I think.

Good to see you've finally joined!

You might want to check with someone who knows what they're talking about when it comes to these things. There also might be something on the bottle...

I've done it about 7 or so times. No side effects, but also only one lucid

Might be worth playing around with the amount of sleep beforehand. Did you try it on 7 consecutive nights?

I wonder if the blend made me sleep poorly? For a couple of days after I took the blend, I had difficulty getting to sleep. I took 1200mg of n acetyl cysteine (NAC) and I started sleeping fine again.

By increasing glutamate, it maybe possible that you are disrupting your ability to release glutamate, and NAC can restore this ability. Don't know how or whether a lack of glutamate really does affect sleep, but the NAC may have helped reverse any effect of the increased glutamate.
