      Natural WILDing

Natural WILDing, if there is such a thing… LOL

By natural, I just mean without the use of any outside devices like alarms, tapes, herbs, etc.. This way involves recognizing natural pre-WILD states of consciousness or states of consciousness that are conducive to WILDing when they occur naturally and taking advantage of them. Most of my LDs are DIALD, “Dream initiated accidental lucid dreams“. The natural WILDing is the only other way I use, and the only intentional way I use for lucid dreaming. The reason that I don’t use alarms and such is that they break or interfere with the natural sleep patterns unnaturally, and sleep is so important. Natural pre-WILDing states occur often enough for me. However, the pre-WILDing states are always states in which “normal” sleep patterns or “routine” have been interrupted or changed for one reason or another naturally...

WILD techniques may require some preliminary training and work, which should all prove helpful in the long run.

Establish a normal healthy sleep routine. This means going to sleep at about the same time every night and waking up at about the same time every morning naturally, getting plenty of sleep, and waking up several times during the night at intervals. This is important so that you will recognize any changes in your normal routine. It is helpful to have your own room, to be able to control the light or dark, having white noise to block out sounds and to feel safe and secure. I usually just use a fan for white noise, but since I use white noise every night to help me sleep, I don’t consider it a devise for WILDing.

Learn relaxation and meditation. This will help you to recognize deeper states of consciousness as you drift through them,... semi conscious and “subconscious“. In essence you will be learning a new way of falling to sleep and to maintain consciousness at deeper levels of consciousness. You will also experience and become familiar with altered states of consciousness other than lucid dreaming. This you can get into a habit of doing every night as you fall to sleep.

When you do recognize that your normal sleep routine or pattern and starting point of consciousness has changed you will be primed for WILDing experimentation. At this point, you can use any of the standard methods or common techniques for WILDing with greater success naturally. Of course, you can induce insomnia or other abnormal sleep patterns naturally which will work, but I don’t recommend it, because sleep and sleep routine themselves are vital to health and happiness. By practicing this, you will also learn which abnormal states are best for WILDing and what they feel like.

There are many variations of WILDing technique that you can use, but they may not all work for all people all the time. You may find that one way works best for you, or after learning some of the basics you may find your own variation or variations that work. So, I encourage experimentation with a variety WILDing techniques.
