      A little freaky...want to understand.

I have had weird experiences while dreaming for a long time. Usually they are strange enough to make me think about them all day, but recently I have been having times where I am aware that I am dreaming and then I suddenly feel a great sense of fear or danger. Most of the time I feel something grab at me and I instantly wake up, sometimes to re-enter the same dream. I had an experience last night where I stayed asleep as long as I could but it got a bit too freaky. It felt like something attacking me. When I woke up there was nothing wrong or unusual and this time I again had it happen the moment I fell back asleep. Has anyone had this happen or does anyone know how this occurs?

      Thanks

I know what you mean, about a year ago, this nearly same thing happened to me, usually i stay asleep through anything(Even death in my dreams.) But it was enough to jolt me awake. I'm not sure what it was, but it only happened once. and I did not like it.

Thanks for responding delphinus. Were you completely aware of this or was it just a nightmare?

I used to be afraid of my lucid dreams... Nothing would grab me but I was scared that I would see a scary face or someone with glowing red eyes and that freaks me out... A couple of years ago in a dream, I saw a hobo in the city and I don't think that I had clothes on and that freaked me out... I kept on trying to dive into buildings so that I could get out of the dream... What a waste of a lucid dream...

I've heard of people that sometimes go through phases where they have dreams of just darkness, but they have a horrible feeling like something terrible has happened or will happen. There's really no reason, and people usually just move on. It might just be due to stress, but I dont know for sure. I've never had that experience.

One thing that I know is that your dreams are influenced by your unconscious mind. So, there may be some fear that is in your unconscious, that you aren't consciously aware of.
      Nobody is Perfect.
      I am a Nobody.
      Therefore, I am Perfect.
