      Describe your feeling when lucid!

      Hi,
I haven`t had any lucid dreams yet, but I`m working a bit on it...
What I made this post for, was to learn how it feels when you are lucid dreaming!
You know: Like, how reel does it feels? And can you smell, feel, ... anything?

And if you have a tips on how I can learn lucid dreaming better, just post it here too.. my biggest problem is to remember dreams! I only remember a dreame once in a month or so.. hmm..

And finally: Does it harm the brain or anything? like: we sleap to rest the brain, right? and is luciddreaming the same as dreaming to the brain?

      Thanks in advance!

Try the Wake BAck to bed method.

I ate chicken once in a lucid dream and i tasted it.

I put my hand in a high speed turning fan and I felt it slow down as it made contact with my hand.

I got a splinter like thing touching my hand as I opened a door once.

I have felt wind touch my face.

I hear sounds and things going on when i am lucid.

      Its pretty real

Well nobody actually knows if lucid dreaming is dangerous, that has been debated numerous times on these forums. Being lucid is great, I think what makes it so good for me is the fact that I realise none of it's real, and it's just so amazing how real it feels.

Becoming lucid almost feels like being awake, but even more so. One piece of advice, though. Try to decide what you want to do when you become lucid. My only lucid dream lasted about 10 seconds and then it went back to a normal dream when I tried to think of what to do. Thinking too much kind of put me back out.

I know this may sound sorta twisted, but its one of the few times in my life that I feel alive.

I've only LD'd 8 or 9 times in the last year, but everytime I feel as if its the only time the world is real, and that I am truly at the helm. I don't really know how to describe this. I mean, in "real life" (I use the term with a touch of nausea) I always feel like something is pulling me in one direction or another, and on the rare occasion that I don't feel like I'm being forced to do something, I find myself immobile and unable to decide what I want to do. When I'm lucid, its like I've entered a realm in which I am the conductor, and nothing is pulling me.

      Ah, well...
An idea is something you haven't fully considered.
A belief is merely a repetitive thought.
A conclusion is simply where you stopped thinking.

      Feelings When Lucid

This is a very easy question for me, I have had more lucid dreams than i can remember, and I always feel terrified when I am aware that I am dreaming. I have been able to lucid dream for years without any induction/force - simply by identifying my surroundings as unreal. In this state I am unable to experiment to much due to the fear level and the desire to get out. This goes back to nightmares as a child - where on becoming lucid my goal was to find a technique to wake up!, not STAY lucid, although prolonged dream lucidity before waking up usually occured, I would occasionally get lucky and get out of a nightmare by rising into the sky flying away from the danger, or extreme fear like being charged at by a demon, or suddenly just falling from a cliff - would waken me.

The feeling of extreme fear (I have learned) is usually a sign that I am dreaming, as I never enter this state to any such extremes in waking life, particularly without obvious reason. Meaning i can become scared in a dream (to the extent as though a guard dog just jumped a high fence and charged me with nowhere to escape) and become lucid before I am in danger - although this isnt always the case. Staying lucid is easy, because the fear stops me from relaxing so much in the lucid dream, that you become unlucid. Obviously this is unique to me, and different people may react differently on realisation that they are lucid.

I have several of my own "Am I dreaming?" tests which are any of the following occurances:
      Breathing underwater
Having a drink or food - but thirst or hunger not satisfied at all.
Not being able to account for how you are in this situation.
Looking at text, looking away and looking back it changes
Obvious faults if present (eg. you are in your house but a window is gone!, or on another wall, sunset at a place you know but the time is morning! etc.).

I have also noticed that the only time i EVER ask myself "Am I dreaming?" is in a dream, if I do this in waking life as an exercise ever, I feel sure I am not dreaming without running tests like accounting for where I am, how I got to be there, what i was doing 5mins ago etc.

One last point ill squeeze in - is ive noticed (personally) that if I think I am dreaming, and actually ask a dream character (which i do alot) - they ALWAYS say no. Even when I can sometimes proove that it cannot be real by things like sign posts saying "Fighter fighters" being nonsense, they will insist no, it isnt, you seem real enough to me etc.. On absolutely prooving to a dream character I AM dreaming they become aggressive and come to attack (more often than not) the fear of which wakes me up.

IN SHORT: When I am in a lucid dream my primary feeling is fear.
Don't really see how a block of text is a signature.

Hey Corrupt - very interesting. I learnt lucid dreams as a child from nightmares too ... but for some reason the fear disappears completely when I can control the nightmare.

      Is your control fairly good?

It feels exactly like being in the real world except...my body feels heavenly, everythings really bright and vivid, sex is more orgasmic and yeah, just like being in the matrix, with powers and everything. It feels second to nothing Ive ever felt. Better feeling than any drug, any ride, anything....pretty much the only thing that cant be fufulled in the dream world is human contact. ANyone your'e in contact with in your dreams is a part of you. If I could bring other people into my dreams, Id never want to leave.
