      Keeping lucidity

Hi, iv been having lucid dreams for a year now. However im having trouble staying lucid for more then 30secs at the time. everything allways seem to go black at that point, and i loose contact with the dream. i try the usually stuff to stay lucid, sit down and concentrate on an object, and feel its shape and all that. but still after about 30seconds everything seems to go in black. even tho i usually get into a new lucid dream right away, its kinda annoying that this happens all the time.

any tips on how i can make the lucid dreams last longer?

      thanks

You can try spinning, but it will change the dream. So remember to remind yourself that you're dreaming as you spin. You can also rub your hands to increase clarity.

A good way is to stop being too excited, just relax yourself.

Lol same here. I don't know what to do to relax since i only have had two lucid dreams. I would just try to take things a bit slower. I hope this helps, Exhalent.

      Hello there,

Don't try spinning, it doesn't help out much at all. Ofcourse people are different and it may help some but more the majority of people it teleports them or makes every thing go black as you said.

Now, what helps me stabalise a dream is rubbing my hands, looking at my hands or doing random reality checks.

Also as soon as you get lucid, just try to take in the environment, relax and try to clear your head.

      Good luck!

Relax. Thats what I do (or did when I had LD's). Don't relax to the point you fall out of the LD but don't think about the need to relax so much, you just get overworked or excited to much.

I tried spinning, and I actually woke up. But definatly try as many methods as you can. Everyone is different, and you'll find what works best.

Hm, I have similar problems. I try everything- rubbing my hands, spinning, focusing on an object, etc. I am also very calm when I get an LD. But, once I move, the whole dream fades and I wake up :\

I would say the best way to fix this though is through autosuggestion, but that doesn't work for everyone.
