Not become lucid even if I do a RC?

      Hey people!

I was wondering... Is it possible that when I (during a dream) ask myself "Am I dreaming?" I'll say "no" and just keep on dreaming?

In other words, is it possible that I'll not become lucid even if I do a RC in a dream (Like I'll push my finger through my hand and just think "Ahh, that's normal"?

Of course, your brain always tried to find ways to justify odd things in a dream, and that is no different for an RC.
      Lucid Dream Count (starting 3/15/08):
      [2]DILD
      [0]WILD

Goal: Get the motivation to actually do WILDs and FILDs

That's why you have to learn how to do a good RC. I was never a fan of the routine based RC, since It failed in the dream a couple of times. The point of a RC is to really start thinking, not just saying "is this a LD?" every few hours.

And yes, even the second scenario can happen. I only remember that happening once, but even that had a short lucidity moment. It got me lucid, but I lost it.

Ok, so it can happen. I hope It won't happen to me the first time I get a LD.

Just don't worry about that. Your enthusiasm, if it's as big as mine once was, will make sure your RC is done successfully.

      Yeah, ofc.
That's why You should make RCs, they don't lie that often.
One of the RCs i use is the hand RC. It lied to me aswell.

It can and has already happened to me.

Your dreaming brain has the tendency of rationalising instead of thinking rationally. Just make sure you don't take things for granted: lucid dreaming is also abotu learning to question things.

But I'd tell you not to worry abotu it: once you get experienced with lucidity, you'd just realise you're in a dream by your dreamsigns, and won't even need a RC. It'd be like "hey, I'm breathign underwater, I'm dreaming!".
