well, my recall has always been pretty good.. but i would forget dreams pretty much after a few days except for the really memorable ones. keeping a dream journal for the past month has dramatically improved my recall and I am at a point where I've stopped recording my dreams. Its not that i'm never going to do it again, i've just gotten lazy, and also I am able to recall all my dreams for much longer than one day. I will now only really record them if they are very interesting.
When I recorded my dreams I pretty much just wrote them in great detail and thats what I think got my brain working in the right spot to develop better recall. just keep working at it for a while and it should eventually get better

To elaborate, Autosuggestion is simply telling yourself that you will remember your dreams. Do it as you are going to sleep.

Another good way to remember your dreams is by deliberately waking yourself, periodically, over the night: set your alarm to go off at multiples of 90 minutes. When you wake up you should remember recent dreams. It is a good suggestion to, at that moment, write them in your dream journal. Although the disadvantage of this technique is its invasiveness to one's sleep cycle.
