**** Forum news UPDATE ****

the 'Dream Guide' program has officially launched; i will make a detailed post later introducing everyone to how it works. new users are now informed of it upon registering, and the responsibilities of the dream guides have now been placed in the Dream Guides Only forum.

next up i'll be working on the Chat system (which is actually now running here, but only for moderators and dream guides until it's finished). i found one that was already integrated nicely into phpBB (using our session IDs, etc.) but it only has support for one room; thus, i'll have to add multi-room support on my own.

i'll be working on updating the main site concurrently with the chat program (adding a 'Dream Interpretation' section, a 'Dream Guide and Adoption' section, perhaps some other section, and i'll be rewording some stuff). also we'll hopefully have some little cartoon characters scattered throughout the forum sometime within the foreseeable future, to make this place a little more unique. i'm going to see about a little menu thing to appear below the page header but above the forum (only on the index page) that will present links to all the information on the main site, in a creative way. i think i'll have it disappear as soon as someone logs in though so it doesn't get obstructive.

after all of that i'll be redoing the 'Dream Journal' section as i mentioned earlier...that shouldn't be too tough because some of the code changes i made for the Dream Guides parallel what i need to do w/ the Dream Journal section.

finally, does anyone else have any additional thoughts about improving the forum, in any way, shape, or form? if it gets too arduous for me to continue making improvements i can always enlist the help of some others.

anyway, i have to be up at 4:30am so gots ta go...

Maybe you could add a welcome message that works as a reality check. Just a simple "Are you dreaming?" sign. For those of us on a lot, it may get into our dreams too.

yah, that was my impression as well. it's not a bad idea, but i'd rather we proceed down our own path. as it is some of them there seem to think we're a lot like them already; the only idea i took from them was the 'Beyond Dreaming' forum, because i liked it.

To be honset I like it that DV has it's own path, thats the reason I like it. The beyond dreaming is a great forum. I found an LD website, can't remember the URL, sorry, well it had subliminal messages while you were on it, maybe that can be integrated here? With messages such as do a reality check. Sorry the ideas pathetic, but I think it could be a good experiment.

Yeah...what is the deal with that? That is not humiliating at all!!! I think we should change "Lucid Begginer" to "n00bie doobie". I am sure they would love that...

Anyway, the forum is great and I really cannot think of anything we should add right now. Perhaps we can finally implement my lucid profiles idea? Just a suggestion

I think the chatroom idea will be great, especially for those with questions that don't require a huge long answer. Also, it'll be nice if people need to clarify what they've just said or their responses so that you don't have to wait for a long time for someone to reply to the post. Thanks ice!

K that's good. So, ur, need any help with the code (which, of course, you won't) then I can give you it limited. Anyway, the ideas sound good, and the chat is good and basically, it's all good. Oh yah, do away with COPPA

Yeah he'll just go up the the magical law fairy and say "Make COPPA disappear, almighty one" and she'll wave her wand and make the COPPA law not apply to this forum magically overnight!
