Something totally weird happened-is it hypnagogia?

      Hi All

I was just lying down, watching my breath. Soon I was totally relaxed, but NOT asleep. I was awake. I was conscious.

Something weird happened. I saw images, as we do while dreaming (continuous images that run like a story, NOT random thoughts), but I wasn't asleep, so it can't be called a dream, right? But if not a dream, what was it? Was it hypnagogia?

Put simply, my situation is like this:

      * Meditated to reach relaxed state
      * Saw continuous images (like a story), similar to dream
      * But I was fully conscious that I was seeing those images in meditation, so it couldn't be a dream
      * What then was it, hypnagogia?

Sorry for breaking it down like this, but it seems important to know what I experienced.

      *

Yeah, the images should eventually take over and become so "thick" that you would be in a dream. What happened? Did they eventually fade out?

No, I woke up suddenly. It was my fault, actually. I tried again, but couldn't produce the same state. The only good thing is, my sleep is getting better and better. But no LD so far.

yeah that's definitely it. eventually you will enter the dream, it only happened to me twice, and the second time was a success. at first i didn't completely understand what hynagogic imagery was, until i experienced it.

Thanks, can you describe exactly how you entered the dream, what happened just before entering it? Before entering, did you give any auto-suggestions? It'll be helpful to know.

yeah it's really hard to describe what happened to me. the first time as i said was a failure, i didn't even feel SP but i did see the HI. the second time the SP came very suddenly and i was on the very edge of sleep. i saw random images of cars, and buildings, and being on a rooftop. then everything just went black and i felt myself floating upwards, then somehow (sorry i don't know how) i was flying through the blackness and flew past all these colors. it was similar to being on a roller coaster but a little more intense. and my sub conscience talked to me and told me to call it "ghost" (very weird, i never would have thought of that consciously). somehow i ended up flying through a tunnel and when i came out i saw trees and grass. after a little flying around i decided to land and look around, but when i landed there was nothing to look at but trees lol. so i flew and found a stone path and flew along it. i then landed and tried to summon someone but i woke up.
i think this is a weird way to do it, i did a Wake Back To Bed, and i spent almost 45 min. just tossing and turning until it did happen.

one time though i did do a DEILD (dream exit induced lucid dream) where i woke up and stayed still and a door appeared in the blackness after about 2 minutes. i walked through the door and into a lucid dream, it lasted quite awhile too.
i've been trying to WILD again but i'm far from mastering it, i need help on it as well lol. but doing a DEILD is far better more effective.

i hoped this helped at all even though it isn't that informative, but that's my experience of a WILD.

BTW the whole time i was trying to WILD, i didn't give myself any auto-suggestions i just let it happen. my feeling right before it was weightlessness, and somehow i just flew into the "blackness". sorry again for not being able to tell you how exactly i "flew" into the dream, but my advice when you feel this weightlessness is to imagine yourself flying. don't imagine your physical body though because that will keep you awake and aware of your physical surroundings. just let go while staying conscious, if that makes sense.
