Meh. While it does improve recall, I don't think it's really worth it in the long-run. Sleep is a precious thing for me, and disruption of it tends to make me groggy during the day.

Every tie I wake up in the middle of the night I write down all the dreams I can remember. Sometimes I feel so I tired and I think, "I'll just lay in bed a minute and then write it down." I usually fall asleep. When I wake up in the morning I can't remember the dream. Then I feel terrible. It's well worth it to write the dreams down in the middle of the night when you remember them.

I keep a little notebook and a pencil next to my bed. I don't even turn the light on, I just reach over and write whatever I remember down. Haha, sometimes its so illegible I have no idea what I wrote and can't remember the dream, but usually I can read it.
