First lucid in a year. Now I need help.

So I got off work early today and decided to take a nap. I realized I was dreaming after a few times of waking up. I then thought to myself the next time I go back to sleep I will be lucid. And to my surprise, It friggen worked. I haven't even given a thought to lding in over a year and this comes comes to me.

In the dream I am in an office and when I try to establish control, I literally lose my sight or people or things I want disappear. Nothing seemed to work for me. I was able to force some control over people, but it felt odd. I felt like I can do better. Does anybody know what i am talking about or have any suggestions for me?

Anyways, I really feel refreshed after this. Even though I've had lds before, this was my best by far concerning control over my dream. The world your mind creates is incredibly real and I had to tell myself like 3 different times that it was all a dream. You are all lucky that you can do this on a consistent basis. Thanks for reading this long and probably overkilled post.
Why does it seem so hard to wake up now and see who we really are?

Yeah I know what you mean. Its all about practice. You don't just have a lucid dream and automatically your like god. You still have to overcome all your minds limitations. Even though I know I'm dreaming theres loads of stuff I can't do. Took me a good while to master flying and breaking windows and I'm still trying to master walking through walls. Problem is I always get stuck in the wall. I think its cuz I don't anticipate whats gonna be on the other side but then again when I'm flying around the place I don't anticipate anything but all sorts of crazy scenery pops up outta nowhere.

Its crazy shit isnt it. The dream world looks just as real as the real world when I wake up.

I suggest reading the "Nature of Dream Control" by The Cusp. It has a lot of really good, practical information on how the dream world works (and how to control it). It is a bit long, but well worth the read.
