sounds kinda creepy when you can just do it yourself. -- wouldn't that be funny to have a girl over, and she sees the machine with her picture in it, then listens to the recordings... haha.

i've always been a strong advocate of learning to lucid dream all on one's own; that machine sounds interesting though. i guess i'm just glad to see others interested in controlling their dreams. i'm particularly intrigued with the idea of stimulating the olfactory receptors. neat.

      welcome back!

i've been meaning to post a depressing message listing all those who stuck around posting 100 or so messages and then suddenly disappeared, for no apparent reason! (sniff, sniff)

erm. it should control the content w/o practice; it will likely help induce lucid dreams w/ practice.

I've never been a fan of "instant" or quick solutions... especially when dealing with the mind. I think it sounds creepy too. Isn't it weird how if f you think of some of the sci-fi films they're coming out with these days (I just saw Paycheck with Ben AFLAC the other day...), sci-fi has a way of becoming sci-fact over time... the technology is mindblowing -and what we see on the consumer market is usually pretty far behind the true cutting edge (usually dominated by military )

      Ditto.

If there's one thing you should do, it's not let a machine do it for you, but exercise your mind and make it strong.

You can look at it as a training tool.. that won't be necessary once the user has had some practice. I haven't been able to have a lucid dream myself

This "toy" is a couple years old now, I remember when it was first annouced on the BBC.

The Yumemi Kobo can't detect REM, rather it runs on your expected sleep cycle so the reliability is very questionable. The system is supposed to make you dream about whatever the scent is associated with, however the tests they've done so far result in a vaguely related dream event.

There's a few other major flaws in the design but I'll keep those to myself because there's a wonderful secret I'm not ready to share

I'm very interested in buying a Yumemi Kobo if anyone has an old one to sell.
