Is being stuck in a horrible nightmare a possible side effect of Lucid dreaming? I have heard stories of people that have been stuck in a reoccurring nightmare for weeks at a time and when they woke up they were an empty shell of their former selves........ |

On the contrary, lucid dreams are a known method of dealing with nightmares.
I dont know what your nightmare is... But when you get LD, just beat the crap out of whatever it is.
