      Medication Might Prevent Lucid Dreams

I have Lucid Dreams every night. So a few nights ago I took a xanax to help with me sleep. And that night I didnt have any lucid dreams and couldnt remember my dreams like Ive been able to for the past few weeks. They I took another one last night just to see if it prevented me from having any lucid dreams. The same thing happend I didnt have any lucid dreams and couldnt remember my dreams like always have been. Im not doctor or anything like that. I have just a made a small connection. It may be true or not. Im just giving you my prespective.

Do you know how xanax effects your brain? Is it a agonist antagonist or precursor?

I dont think xanax makes your brian struggle or whatever antagonist means...and as for precursor I have no idea what you are talking about.

I heard the exact opposite about Xanax. I heard that it actually helps when it comes to having Lucid Dreams. But unfortunately, Xanax does affect your dream recall in a negative way. Its a Central Nervous System Depressant (like alcohol is) in the class of benzodiazepines. So whenever you take CNS Deppressant, you're going to have trouble recalling your dreams whether you became Lucid or not.

Well I know Xanax does effect your memory. I guess I cant really say that I didnt have any lucid dreams because I cant remember them. Not being able to remember them doesnt mean I didnt have any.

Exactly. Even though Xanax affects you're dream recall negatively, I still want to try and see if I can get a LD out of it... I think Xanax will help LDs overall if you just have really good dream recall (which I recently dont seem to have)

And besides I really just want to try it! lol.

I take temazepam every night and I'm still able to attain lucidity. Whether or not it is more difficult I wouldnt know because Ive never had a lucid dream before I started taking it.

I guess you're a natural then kut_throat. I worked incredibly hard to get those very few LDs that Ive had thank you very much, lol.

Well temazepam is in the same class of drugs as Xanax is, so if you naturally have good dream recall and it helps your lucidity then I guess it could be the temazepam that caused your LD(s)... unless you're a natural like kut_throat is.

Thats what I dont understand...I see eveyone here working to get them and they come naturaly to me. I really dont understand it. It weirds me out but on the other hand it is also interesting. Ive started writing down my dreams and I am supprised to find that I remember so many little details. My dreams tend to be a large paragraph to over half a page.

Yeah that's a good thing that you're a natural. I guess that means that you naturally have really good memory or something like that. And yeah you should definitely keep writing down your dreams b/c it helps out a lot and soon you will be writing down dreams that are a page or even longer!

But im curious, how long exactly have you been taking Xanax? And have you had any LDs while on it?

I dont take Xanax that much, I am perscribed Seroquel for primary insomnia. I only take a Xanax if I have had a crazy day and have a lot on my mind.

I see. I dont know too much about how seroquel affects your dreams but I hear some cases of how it makes some dreams more vivid.

Have you ever taken Seroquel and Xanax together? If so, have you had any LDs that same night?

Thats true, I dunno how it effects my dreams. I have taken my Seroquel and Xanax at the same time, and it is harder for me to remember my dreams. So I cant really say I had a Lucid Dream or not because I cant remember them when I take Xanax
