Actually I told two of my friends, and they actually thought it was cool. But everyone else might think I'm crazy...
Wooh another Kansas member!
Anyway, I have told a few of my friends, but they didn't seem very interested.
yea i tried to tell some of my friends they think its to hard :/
oh and yea kansas is boring too flat! i hate it here :(
I've had that sometimes. Most of my friends think it is cool, although some are skeptical. My dad is very skeptical about it and thinks it is all rubbish, which can be annoying sometimes. Then again, my dad is very skeptical about everything. I've tried to explain it to him, but he just doesn't see how it can be possible no matter what I say.
yes i find it really really annoying :bang: i just want them to have one lucid dream to understand -.-
I just say...I lucid dream. If they know about it and seem interested,
ill talk about it. If they seem like they dont get it then i drop it. Most
ppl dont get it.
I make a point of not talking about it with people who will think I'm crazy. I only tell friends who I know (based on their personality) will think it's cool and possibly attempt an LD themselves.
I've only told 2 friends after they brought the subject of crazy dreams up, and I found out one of them had one too, so luckily they still think I'm sane :P
well i just do a RC and they say what are you doing? i say just checking if im in a lucid dream they just laugh -.- and i really hate this because im used to being all high and mighty at everything lol
Would telling them about the scientific studies conducted about LD help, you think? I only have this link, but I think there are more around the forum:

I never had that problem but I know how you feel - my mother is the kind of person that cannot conceive anything that isn't in front of her eyes. Her lack of imagination vs my constant wondering about all things was always an issue between us.
A lot of my friends are into lucid dreaming, that's partly how I got into it. I guess I was a lucky one ^______^
yes i guess you were it seems under 50k people lucid dream i dont like those odds >.>
I'd say about 1 in 50 people I tell actually give a sh*t. They might think its cool while we talk about it but have no motivation to give it a try.
Is the entire world lazy as sh*t or what...
My mom is a skeptic. She believes in the basic concept of being aware in a dream, but she doesn't believe that it feels real at all. :bang:
People tend to think I'm crazy no matter what I'm talking about so I am used to that... :P Seriously though, all my good friends are really interested in the topic when I bring it up. In fact, one of my best friends had her first lucid dream a week ago just from hearing me talk about it constantly.
Two of my close friends are quite interested, one of them doesn't really want to try it out herself though. Another friend is kind of worried that I lose my grip on reality and start living in a dream world (i.e. stop caring about the real world). I can imagine though that some other friends of mine would label it "crazy" too...
I've also told my parents what I'm doing, but neither did they seem very interested nor bothered by it. They kind of just accept it as something I find cool.
also i just hate the feeling of having a awesome lucid dream or lucid dreaming for the 1st time and telling people who dont care for anything!
I guess I'm an open minded friend. As I got turned on to lucid dreaming when my friend told me about her first one a month ago.
well i hate it they think im retarded
I dont think they are lazy....they just dont know! If they knew,
they would try to!! Theres no way to explain how real and how
wonderful it is! Because most ppl believe they have dreamed
dreams that seemed real. They just dont make the connection
that we mean....really real!! lol
I've read alot of these types of threads, it seems clear to me that lucid dreaming is often the victim of prejudice, I once made a comparison to the cro magnon people (Cave Men) in the book series earth's children seeing people riding horses, they become prejudice to them, thinking there is something super natural about them, they reacted with volience or fear upon first seeing them. (similar to how some people react to lucid dreaming with insults, or think of them as super natural today)
YES !!! If people don't experience dreaming the way some of us do , they totally can't understand at all . Forget about trying to explain lucid and dream learning to them ---they'll have me locked up !!
argh, i hate this! i'll try and tell my siblings or friends about my most recent lucid dream or a somewhat exciting dream and they'll become really skeptical and say that i'm making all of it up. my brothers think i'm weird for my RC's and DJ. :whyohwhy:
