I'd say about 1 in 50 people I tell actually give a sh*t. They might think its cool while we talk about it but have no motivation to give it a try.

Is the entire world lazy as sh*t or what...

My mom is a skeptic. She believes in the basic concept of being aware in a dream, but she doesn't believe that it feels real at all.

People tend to think I'm crazy no matter what I'm talking about so I am used to that... Seriously though, all my good friends are really interested in the topic when I bring it up. In fact, one of my best friends had her first lucid dream a week ago just from hearing me talk about it constantly.

Two of my close friends are quite interested, one of them doesn't really want to try it out herself though. Another friend is kind of worried that I lose my grip on reality and start living in a dream world (i.e. stop caring about the real world). I can imagine though that some other friends of mine would label it "crazy" too...
I've also told my parents what I'm doing, but neither did they seem very interested nor bothered by it. They kind of just accept it as something I find cool.

I guess I'm an open minded friend. As I got turned on to lucid dreaming when my friend told me about her first one a month ago.

I dont think they are lazy....they just dont know! If they knew,
they would try to!! Theres no way to explain how real and how
wonderful it is! Because most ppl believe they have dreamed
dreams that seemed real. They just dont make the connection
      that we mean....really real!! lol

I've read alot of these types of threads, it seems clear to me that lucid dreaming is often the victim of prejudice, I once made a comparison to the cro magnon people (Cave Men) in the book series earth's children seeing people riding horses, they become prejudice to them, thinking there is something super natural about them, they reacted with volience or fear upon first seeing them. (similar to how some people react to lucid dreaming with insults, or think of them as super natural today)

My fave series ever!! You are probably right too, to a degree tho, because
i think its easier to reach ppl nowadays then it was hundreds and thousands
of years ago. Nowadays ppl have more open minds and theyve seen so much
happen in just one century that they are ready to believe anything can
happen or can be invented. But to most ppl it must seem like something
supernatural to them and a lot of ppl dont go for that kind of thing. But its
not supernatural as we all know......cuz you know, when i see ppl camping
out somewhere and waiting for aliens to land....i think theyre all nutz too!
So we know LDing is nothing like that and that its as natural as walking
down the street...but they listen, and then think....omg that person is
nutz!! I just dont discuss it with anyone.

Tried telling my little brother about it as I doubted it to until I tried my first WILD then realized that, yes it is true. All he does is call me a hippy even tho I said people have proved it already

I was thinking lately, a lot of people ask me what I spend my time doing, and it is irritating to get past that, because I don't like to bring it up to people a lot of the time, though I do occasionally tell them about it, it usually isn't something I do in public talking to a person for the first time, though I'm quite likely to tell a friend or someone I've been hanging close to for a bit, it really does make me sound like a boring lazy person.

Yeah besides the fact that there can be like 3 pages in a row describing the scenery and location, it has a story that really got me involved, just think the 6th one should be out about now, soon I'll start loosing my memory of the series.
