Other dreamers? I don't get it.

I've heard more than a few people on this board say, and casually I might add, that other dreamers can happen upon another's dream. For example: I'm dreaming about a yard. I see a man. He is possibly another dreamer, if the theory is correct. Righttt....but how is that possible? Am I wrong in thinking that a dream is nothing more than a manifestation of what our minds were programed to do while our body is shut down? And if so, how can things such as "dream guides" which are more paranormal than logical of course, and "other dreamers" be at all possible? I just don't get it. Anyone?...

It's called astral travel, when our spirits exit our bodies to visit desced loved one's and travel to "past lives" and locations in our present time during our sleep (they seem like dreams). I'm specktical about this phenominom =

I dont think there is really a logical explanation for these phenonmen...its sorta like believing in ghosts but what Jessica said is pretty much right. You can travel via some other plane into some other persons mind and be in their dream. as for dream guides...i personally just think that they are a possibly a manifestation of your subconcious mind or perhaps someone from a higher plane...i dunno...

Some people believe in an astral plane. which to Imy understanding is a plane where your mind can travel and is not grouned by universal laws. Which you are then astral projecting. I myself don't know anything from expieriance other than the fact that you should rule nothing out. I have learned anything is possiple. I have had so many LD expieriances that I thought were far fetched only to find myself expiriance it on my own.
