Hey, I'm new to this and I have some questions/comments

iv tried to attain lucid dreams by sleeping in the afternoon, but often times my mind is blank and i wake up having wasted the time, i also tried sleeping with a light on but only ended up with a headache and tired eyes in the morning. Can someone help me and be more general on how to become lucid, and explain to me their experiences and comments on how real it could be.

I also recall something from my memory about what i think was a lucid dream i had before but do't knoe much about it. I was dreaming myself to be in a world with nothing but trees, and i would go around sucking something out of the trees with my hands and then firing those fireballs from dragonball z (yea i was little then and was a big fan, lol) Then suddenly i realized it was a dream, i was still in the dream, and tried to fire those fireballs again, but i coulnt fire them anymore and seemed to have lost all power, i just kept thinking about things and woke up in confusion...

how do i keep control after becoming concious?

      Welcome :yumdumdoodledum:

I don't really know how to begin answering your questions. Just settle in and look around. There is plenty of good stuff written my knowledgeable people.

I will answer how real it can be though. Sometimes it is more real that waking reality! Feelings, sensations, colors, everything sharper and more intense.
At other times, it can be a dim shadow of reality.

when i have dreams, they are as real as right now. When I know i'm in a lucid dream (Ive only had three) I try to not think about it. When I had my first LD I got all excited and woke up. Now I just try to focus on something else. In my last one, I just started to look around and went on talking with the guys i was with. It was really wierd, it felt so real to me. I was making decision instead of going with the flow. I can handle myself when Im in a LD, but i have trouble starting it.

Welcome Im also pretty new to this but your in a great site. Ive learned a lot sence ive been here. Hopefully you will too!
