      Unhappy Sleep Paralysis?

As far as im concerned, one can just lay perfectly still in bed, and without moving for a long enough period of time, your body will eventually go to sleep? I've been having a slight amount of trouble in trying to acheieve SP, either i fall asleep while awaiting for my body to shut down, or it just doesnt happen. Maybe im to anxious? Is the key to keep a calm mind?

Yep, you feel yourself entering the dream. It's like in The Matrix when the camera goes 'into' a monitor. Anyway, SP is more than just staying still. The mental component is very important. You need to wipe your mind of all conscious thoughts, and just let hypnagogic imagery flow through it. But you have to maintain your self-awareness. It's a very fine line, but it's possible.

Actively try to relax your muscles. This will take some time to do all the muscles in your body and give your brain something to do.
You could relax your muscles more deeply with every breath out or do stephen laberge's 61 points technique

The difficultly of it seems to be getting the right mixture of thoughtlessness and imagery, sounds difficult. Especially when i find it difficult even to just stay still for a decent period of time.

So then im guessing the best time to try and fall into SP would be after a WBTB, or in other words, when attempting a WILD

This happens to me a lot too. Being an insomniac, if there's one thing that Ive learned from countless sleepless nights is that when you're body (for some reason) doesnt want you to go to sleep, then forget about any pointers, b/c its not happening that night (at least, in my case).

For me, I have to find something that will put me out b/c I cantdo it on my own sometimes. Even yesterday; I didnt go to bed until 3 am and I had to get up at 7 am for an orientation!!! Ive felt like a zombie all of today; I was going around, dropping things, etc. I was/am a complete wreck today.
