Well, it's been a while for me posting here but I'm back because I've had another sort of lucid dream.

Well, to explain what I mean, let me tell you a little about the dream. I was in my old bed in my old room, and I was reality checking with the finger counting. As usual, it did nothing for me, but the act managed to kick start my mind into the realisation I was dreaming.

At first, I tried to remain calm, as if I was going to sit in the back of my mind and allow the dream to play out. I've had a lucid dream before and it ended very prematurely with my waking up. After a very short time, however, it seemed as if the lucidity was slipping away from me. I tried all sorts of strange thoughts... most of which I can't remember, but it was as if I was trying to plug holes in a bursting dam. The more I struggled, the more I felt it taking over. I also seemed to move through a doorway of light (yet I did not move from the bed).

So, to end the story, I failed. I was really done for when I had a false awakening and that really was the final nail in the coffin.

I just thought I'd share with with you and wonder if anyone has any useful advice for me, or anything else at all. Feel free to comment.
